DJ Barry Hammond Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Those of you doubting whether N'Zonzi might come should consider... * The club does its homework on transfers * In the most part, it likes to do its transfer deals on the quiet * The club had Robert Huth on loan for the last part of the season... and have just signed him, indicating there is a clear dialog between the two clubs * If the club have bid/made an enquiry - and it seems pretty certain there's some substance here - the club will have discussed the viablity of this transfer with Huth. My hunch is, given this story was released by the Sun, its probably been leeked from the Stoke City side. Don't we use a different paper when we want to drop a story that helps us? And, assuming my hunch is correct, they key question is - was the story released by Stoke (hoping to attract an increased bid - like they did when Sevilla bid £3 million) OR was this the players agent hoping to attract more attention as to his clients availability? N'Zonzi is moving to the prime of his career off the back of an excellent season, therefore he will want a serious £'s contact for 3 years+. That will be his main motive for moving.
Guest Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Or Cambiasso's hand. There's no way that Cambi hasn't made his decision by now. Here's a question for you all, if you had a choice what would you rather have. A) N'Zonzi & Kante but no Cambiasso. B) Kante & Cambiasso but no N'Zonzi. The one that would see us a force for years to come.

I like the theory that us putting a 'real' bid in of £7mil for N'Zonzi was part of the Huth deal. That the deal is confirmed almost simultaneously with us putting a bid in, is just too coincidental. As you say, the club tends to keep things silent until they are confirmed. Our bid is merely us doing a favour for Stoke to push up N'Zonzis price as he's almost certain to leave this summer.
Rusko187 Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Whilst I do like N'Zonzi and would love him to come here, I just cannot see him getting Champions League football. By all rights he is a GOOD player but he's by no means world class. Would he fit in somewhere like Man U, Man C, Chelsea or Arsenal? No, Barcelona or Real Madrid? Nah.. He has to face facts he isn't good enough for Champions League football, if he wants it he's going to have to consider lower wages and a lesser league. Now if he wants to come to a team who will go for medals than come to Leicester, I think a few more additions and we'll be gunning for cup runs!

Sevilla is CL football and they have bid for him so I assume yes, he can get CL football.
LAprice_ Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 It doesn't matter who we sign in midfield, Andy King will deservedly force his way into the starting 11, just like he has done for the last 8 years. Let's not forget about him when talking about all the midfield options!
TMELcfc Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 I just wonder if this is a bid that the owners are making to show their intent. We are Leicester and we will bid for players like N'Zonzi etc even if we don't think we will realistically get them. Be nice if it happened but reading quotes from his father, I highly doubt it.

We are clearly looking at midfield options and players like to know that were there first choice - you want them to play for you over any other options out there. Remember the Cambiasso interview, "i'm option 1, option 2, option 3". That is why Pearson likes to do things under the radar - the ability to massage a players ego is a great card to have when trying to get them to sign for the club and buy into the whole project, so I doubt very much that we'd be willing to publically do Stoke a favour. That's not our current style.
Foxy harry Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 quality player wont come here tho so underrated i think
artursteppe Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 I do not know why anybody actually thinks Sevilla want him. £3M bid is a joke, and I do not think N'Zonzi would be impressed with their valuation. Fvck off as a response would be very suitable if I was N'Zonzi's agent.
Dan Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Too many people on here saying he would never come here let's face it this time last year did any of us really think Esteban the legend cambiasso would be gracing the king power Cambiasso was more realistic than this. One of them was a 34 year old free agent in August. The other has interest from Sevilla (who are merely testing the water), has won player of the season for a top half Premier League side and is a lot younger. Oh and to the one who said it I'm pretty sure N'Zonzi isn't signing for Ludogorets Razgrad

They're waiting on money from the Krychowiak sale I'd imagine.
simon789us Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Best get in there quick then seen as kante going Marseille apparently
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Make an offer that Stoke can't resist then offer him wages that he can't refuse. I rate N'Zonzi so highly & the thought of him alongside Cambiasso is just crazy.

Apparently Southampton are after Krychowiak if they sell Schneiderlin so it could be him to Southampton then N'Zonzi to Sevilla unfortunately. Still worth a punt though to show our intent. Frost Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Krychowiak will not go to Southampton. He's been linked with top European clubs, its not even an improvement if he goes from Europa League winners to Saints.

That's not our current style. Neither club have confirmed it, and it will probably stay that way. Quite the contrary, I think potential transfer targets will see our name next to N'Zonzis and will think we're being quite ambitious. Should they have ego worries, Pearson can always tell his targets that this bid was just a part of the Huth deal. I very much doubt this 'bid' will have hurt our chances of bringing any midfield players to the club. Cambiasso is a unique case, we won't be chasing as high-profile and decorated player as him.
Beliall Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 It's all smoke and mirrors, we'll back and forth like this for a few weeks and sign pirlo.
Fox 4 Life Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 If this was a "smokescreen" for Kante it definitely didn't work
Bagworthblue Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 I sometimes make daft comments that I don't realise are daft until someone points it out and I feel like a tit! Sometimes I do it on purpose. I generally backdown and accept that people now think i'm a 2/10 tit. Some people however continue to fight their corner either through fear of backing down or because they think - what the hell - I don't wanna be a 2/10 tit -I'm gonna go the whole 44FF I've done this before to the extent that I become one humongous bouncy mound of pure Mammary with 2 little feet sticking out the bottom and a small nipple with eyes on top! but at least it's on top and pert and not saggy but at the end of the day I am just viewed as one huge tit hoping another huge tit comes along to make me whole. deep down though I'm ok really - just can't help being a tit from time to time! we all have that that big tit inside us fighting to get out!!! and so ends the Baggers thought of the day!! shit - I put this in the wrong thread - what a tit
