Ofcource you are untitled to your own opinion, however the only reason we Havnt spent any money in 4 windows is we have had to get rid of the rubbish/overpriced players pulis bought (palacious Shea ect). That hasn't ment we Havnt brought it quality ( bojan, douif ect). This summer will be a different story with coats promising Hughes money to spend exqmpled by our pursuit of konopilanka. Why you think any team are content in not improving is beyond me

Obviously every club wants to improve but like has been said it takes massive investment to improve on where you are and have been for years, you shouldn't take it as an insult as I would love to see my club in your situation in a few years, I was just pointing out that the only chance we'd have of landing a player like nzonzi would be if he bought into our chairmans plans

Smokescreen as others have said but people thinking Stoke are some big club because they have had a few decent years in the prem must realise they will find there level in time like Bolton and Blackburn have now.

Bet the same people were saying what a big club Blackburn were a few years back

Who gives a toss whether a club is bigger or not? Currently their team is better than ours. N'Zonzi wants to move to a better team than Stoke. He won't be coming here.

Let's move on.

And if he came here we'd probably be better than them.

Do Havnt taken it as an insult at all pal, I actually admire your teams ambition. Leicester being my second team I want all the best for them , but I think a few fans on this board are jumping the gun and where they expect to finish in 1-2 years. It's taken the likes of stoke, Swansea years to crack and establish themselves as top 10 Prem teams , so of the fans need to remember that . Indeed the money is huge is cracking top 10,spending 80 mill last year is the only reason Southampton have done it in a relatively short period. Spending 100 mill over the space of 3 years could do it for newly promoted teams , but it won't be straight away

Who's to say this won't happen to us... Again.

Very good shout.

Some people are underestimating our owners intentions.

This 'my club is bigger than your club' is playground talk that is irrelevant given the stature of both of our clubs last & this coming season.

They finished higher up the table, but we finished the season in champions league form.

I think for him to come here would be a sideward step, nothing more, nothing less. Though, we are an exciting club to be at right now I believe.

as has been said:

a) no chance

b) probably done to aid both clubs in getting their preferred players/prices

absolute class act though

I can understand Stoke not wanting to sell one of their prized assets to another PL club and whilst going to Sevilla as reported may seem to be a more logical choice, will he be a regular starter for them? Is he good enough to play CL football? Will he want to settle for warming their bench?

If Sevilla are serious and match our 'offer' (or the price quoted), then I'd guess he'd be on his way there. If they're reluctant to pay that sort of money, you never know what might happen.

One thing's for sure if we do get him, I'll be putting a tenner on Mark Hughes quitting before the start of the season.

Think they are waiting for the sale of Bacca to free up some funds.

What's the connection between Cambiasso, Hartlepool Utd and Stoke City ....?

I'll give you half an hour and give you the answer if no one's got it.

I'd answer the question but would probably get banned.

Clever from Nigel. Shows intent. If we get him fantastic. I thought he was dominant home and away against us. A complete midfielder and one of the most underrated in the prem.

However we have no chance. Like it or not it's a backwards move, the guys wants European football. He might as well stay at Stoke then come here.

Reading between the lines it's a favour for Hughes to set a price for Sevilla or whoever to match ,and give us dibs on Huth.

This, which is a shame.A real quality player that really would show how serious we are!!

Unfortunately you're right.

If he doesn't get the move he wants his second option will be to run his contract down.

Perhaps we can get him on a free next season and offer him Champions League football?
