Steven Nzonzi gone to Sevilla

This is definitely an agreement with Stoke to up his price, shame as he would be a superb signing. He wants to join a bigger club, sadly we are not that at this time.

Nzonzi & N'golo? If we were, and I think it very unlikely, to bring both in, we'd be smashing our way to 10th place no bother

Nzonzi, N'golo 'n' Huth would be the stuff dreams are made of.

It won't happen, but if it did then we'd be in a fantastic position to push for the top half - even without Cambiasso.

We could have a VERY strong squad for a second-season prem side, and it's still only June!

I'd part with seven million of my own money for N'Zonzi.

I'd be happy to go halves with you to ease the burden. £3.5mil each it is.

Ahh the Game of Transfers has begun. I don't believe this trade will go through BUT I expect much more of this type of news to come through in the next few weeks.

You think we are a bigger club than Stoke?

Would absolutely love this, cant see it happening but Nigel Pearson does seem an exceptionally popular man-manager so could convince him- ie Fuchs.

Great signal of intent though

Define bigger... if you mean are Stoke higher in the league than us, yes they are, size wise (no. of fans) we're probably bigger.  Trophy wise we've won more over time. But it's all a pointless argument. We, them and dozens of other clubs are all around the same size. Some having purple patches, others not.

To be honest, if he's the type of guy to reject the offer 'out of hand' without giving us any chance to persuade him, I'm not sure he's the type of character I'd want around. If he lets us talk to him, and politely declines, then fair enough and good luck to the lad.

http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/Stoke-City-Club-confirms-7m-Steven-Nzonzi-bid/story-26758206-detail/story.html

STEVEN Nzonzi is set to reject out of hand a shock £7m bid from Leicester City, The Sentinel understands.

Leicester, fresh from negotiating a deal for Robert Huth, stunned Stoke by declaring an unlikely interest in the unsettled midfielder.

They subsequently tabled a bid of £7m - a considerable advance on Sevilla's rejected offer of £3m at the weekend.

Nzonzi will not be attracted to Leicester, however, as sources close to the player see that as a sideways move at best.

He wants the Champions League football that Seville can offer, but the Spanish club will now have to offer at least £7m to stand a chance of signing him.

For Leicester have now done Stoke a huge favour by placing a minimum price tag of £7m on Nzonzi's head.

The 26 year-old Frenchman still has one year left on his Stoke contract, but has given no indication that he wants to sign an extension.

Voted unanimously as Stoke's player-of-the-year recently, his father and agent Fidele believes Nzonzi can win a place in the senior French side if he wins a move to a bigger club than Stoke.

Surely we havnt gone with a bid just to up his price up? " you let us have Huth and we'll get your nzonzi price up"

Sounds more believable than him coming here TBH lol

Or he just wants to play in Europe and think he's good enough to do so?

I suppose its the same as us paying them an extra 4 million for Huth but getting someone else to give them the money instead.

Absolute Genious if we've done that!

Thats exactly why it's been done, raise his price and push Caen into selling Kante, it's McArthur/Cambiasso gate all over again

Any evidence to back up " stoke happy to be a mid table side " ?

I'm going off the fact they've been basically sat there since being promoted 7 years ago.... I'm sure if they had plans on buying players to push them onto that next level in the next couple of seasons nzonzi would probably sit tight and sign a new contract, this is all my opinion of course

The  'We will give you Huth if you up the ante for Nzonzi ' sounds a bit far fetched but we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. I have no doubt Nzonzi wants to play at the highest level but if there are no offers on the table who knows what he may decide to do, players can be mercenary animals and the smell of cash can change minds, unlikely it will happen but that's what I thought about Cambiasso!

Can't see why he would want to leave either to be honest. Stoke do seem to be a club on the up under Mark Hughes.

I'm in Stoke now, could see exactly why anyone would want to leave! :)
