Won my first game 3-1 away at Stoke. Not won in 10 games since, Kasper is a lability and Morgan and Huth look like they play in slow motion! Oh and Kante has been injured all season. :@

Pretty much just like real life, I assume Man U play a similar one if it's realistic.

Had a great pre season with Gainsborough, improved the squad where it needed it and hoping for a top 5 finish this time. Also bringing through 2 or 3 players from the youth team, which is easily the most satisfying thing about this game for me. Rarely sign a player over the age of 19 when I have my club in order.

Really?

Its like

Very strange and difficult to play against!

lost out on the playoffs on goal difference! then lost my chief scout, assistant manager and the board. new local investor comes in and says "hi, we have borrowed 70 grand to cover the takeover and wont be investing any more into the club....good luck!"

going to try and get playoffs this season! i have faith!

Completely Nigel Pearsoned it, was top after 15 games and now I've been on a run of 8 games without a win, followed by a win and then currently on a 7 game winless streak. We've gone from being a tight outfit always good for a goal to a team that's routinely losing by 3 or 4 goals. Trying to play defensive doesn't seem to help, my defenders just seem to have lost their ability. If I see this season out it'll be a miracle ha.

Changed my laptop and bloody lost my save.

Just started again with Leicester.

In -

Embolo

Guedes (loan)

Balanta

Peruzzi

Out -

Vardy

Schwarzer

Ulloa

Just about to start the season, demolished teams for fun in pre-season, including Koln, Schalke & Dortmund.

Bagged La Liga with Real Madrid. Some would rightly say thats not as much an achievement as some has made but the quality of the football my team is capable of is scintilating.

However, i did suffer a painful Champions League loss over 2 legs to Man Utd, losing 4-1 at Old Traffordf which undoubtedly was the low point of my Real Madrid Career.

I have to Copa Del Rey Final to come vs Malaga to complete the double.

Upon winning the league, the board gave me a whopping £247 million to spend, and ive wasted no time splashing the cash.

Thibault Courtois will replace Keylor Navas in goal, and I have brought in John Stones who fits the philosophy of the club exactly as i want it, ball playing elegant defender.

Paul Pogba is the marquee signing, a cool £80 million from Juventus, he will dominate La Liga from the middle of the pitch.

Only other signing my sights are on right now is Dybala, who would be a good long term upgrade on Benzema.

I will post screenshts of the tactical approach and squad after the Copa Del Rey final.

Rapid Bucharest has completely stalled lol Steaua are still kings and no top clubs steal their best players. Think I still have an underdog status attatched to the club, gone from finishing 11th to 10th to 2nd to 3rd and still i'm predicted to finish 8th, and having my assistant recommend that I should remind our players (in teamtalks) that there's no pressure against a side that are no bloody better than we are. Got a decent side coming together but we don't seem to be getting any closer to Steaua. Infact I loaned a 16 year old from Dinamo Zagreb and he's into his 4th season with us now, 19yo and has already hit 50 goals for us and i've already managed to tie him down for another season on loan next year lol Have a fairly sizable transfer budget for a club our size (2m) but not really enough to do much with. A lot of players, from a similar standard if not worse league than ours, Scandinavian sides in particular, don't even give me a chance to talk to them because they feel they won't be able to maintain their current lifestyle in Romania... is this new? Either Romania is a bigger shithole than I imagined or FM have gone over the top in using that as an excuse so much lol

Entered in the 2nd qualifying round for the Europa League last season and got knocked out by Copenhagen 3-1 on agg in the 3rd round (beat Red Star Belgrade in 2nd)

Does anyone know if FM16 will run with AMDamd a10-8700p quad-core accelerated processor with amd radeon™ r6 graphics graphics card?

I don't know what that means but it runs on my 5 year old lenovo x220

Well after two opening defeats, I seem to have sorted out. Three league wins on the bounce including a 0-1 away win at Manchester City! Just changed the whole 11 and lost to Derby in the League Cup though but league form is ok now.

Going in similar directions here, I've got no plan to part with Pogba or Dybala for my entire time here and I want John Stones now that Laporte's gone to Chelsea.

The stupid board glitch is still there. They've thrown £26mil into my transfer budget on deadline day at 11pm, so I can't spend any of it this season.

I've bought Embolo and loaned him back out, got Geronimo Rulli coming in on a free and have got Lincoln joining me from next summer.

Got a real dilemma here. Want a new CDM as Khedira's ageing. It's going to a Portuguese one - I can't decide between William Carvalho or Ruben Neves. Carvalho is 23 and class, Neves is 18 and will go on to be even better, but right now Carvalho's better. Who do we go for?

My god. Three away losses on the spin. ****ing piss poor. Losing at Empoli stands out as a particular low point.

Carvalho then. I had Neves in 2015, and whilst he was solid, he won't pull up trees. I found that I conceded a few goals due to his lack of pace in the CDM position.

I am leaning towards Carvalho.

Wow. Lost at home to Lazio. It's completely beyond me. This team should not be losing to ****ing Lazio.

Think I'm needing more than one centre half. Chiellini's shot it.

On the subject of tactics... anyone else noticed that every mid/lower prem opposition seems to play 4 at the back... then 4 across the defensive midfield area and 2 up front? Thought it was a glitch at first!

It's not a 44002, it's a normal 442 it's just how it shows on the pre match screen - click on the formations widget on the match day settings and you'll see how they actually set up.

What's your set up? formation, roles, duties, fluidity, team instructions, player instructions?

I think you need to change your signature to that question lol

Just lost at Chievo now. We're on the verge of falling apart. This is a total embarrassment.

Right, here goes...

GK - Buffon, obviously, although even he chucked Lazio a win recently.

RCD - Bonucci. I like having Bonucci there as a ball-playing defender, although I'm contemplating moving him central as he's been comfortably my best defender.

CD - For large parts of the season it's been Barzagli as he's the organiser of the three, although an injury to him has thrown my plans all over the place, there've been instances of playing either Caceres or Rugani there and whilst neither have been particularly bad, there is something missing. Barzagli is prone to an off-day but I definitely think I actually miss him after all.

LCD - Chiellini, although he has been incredibly dodgy this season. He's actually been the worst of the five, which is pretty amazing really. He's gotten worse since I made him a normal defender rather than a stopper, although I've never had the two down as being that dis-similar.

LWB - This varies a lot. I often pick Evra as he's the best of the three (him, Alex Sandro and Asamoah) defensively, however I think Asamoah is the best player, although he's also had a long-term injury. Changing this position to CWB has not helped my cause, on reflection.

LCM - This is where it gets a bit tricky. I rotate Marchisio and Pereyra here, both are playmakers but the problem is I don't believe that having over one playmaker is beneficial to the team, and Pogba is comfortably the pick of my playmakers so these two are regularly changed to something like CM (S/A) or BBM. Might try and change what Pogba does and get Pereyra driving at teams like he did for me at Udinese on 14. He was amazing for me on that.

CM - Pogba, as stated. He's our best player and is indispensable

RCM - This has also varied, although lately I've been using Khedira as a BWM (S) and whilst in theory you'd think it should work, it hasn't been really. Starting to think you'll only get away with that if you've got a proper defensive midfielder behind the midfield, which Khedira is the nearest we have to that. Sturaro does a similar role but isn't quite as good yet, and I find it hard to pick him with the likes of Pereyra, Marchisio or even Hernanes benched. Hernanes doesn't really get a look in because whilst good, we just have better. There are too many similar midfielders at Juventus for me. Losing Pirlo and Vidal really has hit them hard.

RM - I rotate between Lichtsteiner and Cuadrado, but Cuadrado's becoming a pure back-up now. Lichtsteiner as a defensive winger contributes more both attacking and defensively than Cuadrado does. He's been not far off my player of the season.

STR - Morata is generally my man here, but he's been a bit dodgy lately and Zaza keeps scoring from both the bench and when he starts. Mandzukic was sold to Atletico. I've rotated Morata's role between complete forward (A) and advanced forward.

STL - Dybala's been a shoe-in for this position although he's only just come out of a real goal-drought. He's played generally as a false nine, trequartista or a complete forward (S), he's still setting them up so he's justifying his position although it's disappointing how he's only got about two goals in twelve games. Missed the target from the spot last game as well.

Instructions - I've stuck pretty rigidly to being more disciplined, closing down more, and pushing my defensive line high. I think Juventus have a standard of player that is capable of doing that effectively, and for most of this season so far, it had done.

I'm not trying to make excuses, this is the best squad in the Serie A and if I don't win the league, it's a bad, bad effort, but I really do think they're an imbalanced squad at the minute. They've got a lot of good players but not enough variation. I think I will eventually come through but my form is seriously concerning. I've got to go away to both Milan teams and a flying Sassuolo soon as well.

I'd try and strip it down to basics again,

Control or a lower mentality

----------Morata AF-------Dybala DLF S

---------? BTB S------------Pogba CM A

---CWB A------Anchorman--------CWB A

------------CD------CD-------CD

----------------------GK----------------

I reckon you need to try and create more space up front so runs from deep, a player dropping deep and some more depth, don't over do it on the team instructions front. Possibly I'd avoid pressing too high because you're leaving space in behind and restricting the space in the opposition half so you've even less space against sides sitting deep so space really is at a premium.  Moreover, a three at the back formation isn't ideal for pressing as there's always going to be an imbalance out wide.

Posted

The two wide centre halves do cover wide areas quite well though, allowing my wing backs to get further forward. Chiellini and in-particular Bonucci are spraying passes from their positions. I quite like three at the back.

Funnily enough without reading your post, I played another game at home to Genoa with...

...and absolutely battered them from start to finish, and won 4-0.

Think I'm guilty of trying to be a bit too clever.

I actually really like Zaza. Just a solid all-round striker who knows where the net is.

Seems more balanced now, I'd have Liechtensteiner as a WB-A though

Two BPD's can cause problems as well I think

Posted

In what way, do you think?

I'm contemplating that but I'm struggling to justify changing Lichtsteiner's role as he's been one of the bright sparks of a pretty shocking run.

Sevilla away next then bed. We will get beat here. Stupid number of injuries. Six subs named and two of them goalkeepers. It's an absolute joke.

Next season has come around already with five summer signings in the bag, and an opening friendly vs Bayern in the Ramos Testemonial.
