4everfox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Mahrez?!?! Mahrez is ridiculous as it is. Only two I think are inaccurate are Drinks and Kante tbh. Everyone's determination, workrate and stamina could maybe get a boost but the skill levels are about right. Mahrez is good don't get me wrong, but he's better in real life. I think he should be amongst the best 15 or 20 players on the game based on this season so far. I can get him playing well on the game but only as an inside forward which means I cant use him in a deeper wide playmaker role when required because he isn't great there. Kante should be ridiculous though. Vardy is the only player who is already brilliant on the game for me.
shen Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I fancy trying again with Leicester now I've got a feel for things. I think I can actually do a Claudio in season one with the updated Vardy and with Amartey in there. But I'm going to rage if Kante hasn't been buffed. In fact, I may edit him myself and upload him to the steam workshop if they haven't. It's definitely possible. And don't rage about Kanté. Yeah his stats look underwhelming, but he won African Player of the Year for me first season and his value shot up to the mid £20 millions. Box to box was the 'secret'.
Beliall Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Anyone got any decent challenges for FM? Aside from the Pentagon which has been done to death already (although I may do it if there's no decent alternatives). There used to be one where you took over RUOR Minsk in Bulgaria or something and they were like 4th tier but had one of the best youth setups in the game but apparently they've disbanded now and only play semi professionally. Something like that would be good. San marino challenge, taake charge of the club and international teams, and win the world cup
Ozwin Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 It's definitely possible. And don't rage about Kanté. He is no where near where he should be on it.

You know this game well enough to know a player can be effective in a good formation even if his stats are lacking. Kante's stats for anticipation, tackling, positioning, technique and concentration are shameful. He's a freak of nature and all of those should be comfortably 17+. He should also be quicker, fitter, more determined, harder working and just generally have a much higher CA than he does.

Firstly I've gotten some crazy form out of Riyad and secondly, top 15 in the world?!?!

When you put his attributes down on paper like that and assume that 26-29 is a player's prime, he could quite easily become the best central midfielders in the world. It's actually quite scary.

People that don't watch Leicester games actually think I'm wildly exaggerating when I say he's one of the best ball winning midfielders I've ever seen. I think even a lot of city fans still don't quite appreciate how much of a one off we have here. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is to tackling what Messi and Neymar are to dribbling. I really mean that. Both based on anecdotal evidence and the statistics. He's got a future much bigger than LCFC.

And I'm not arguing his stats aren't reflective of real life. I look forward to seeing what they give him in FM17
Finnegan Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 His technique 17+? And I'm not arguing his stats aren't reflective of real life. I look forward to seeing what they give him in FM17 Iirc, technique plays a part in tackling in which case I'd say yeah, definitely. Flair, ambition, dribbling and vision are all things that make Riyad do tricks and skills etc. First touch is what helps him kill the ball in an instant. Technique is just representative of the individual's ability to execute different tasks associated with playing the game and AFAIK that includes defending. I could either be mis-remembering something I read or it may have changed however.
Dan Posted 2 March 2016 Author Posted 2 March 2016 I'm with Finnegan. I said it elsewhere but I think he's a world class player in the marking, a genuine top top player.
DB11 Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I swear it doesn't normally take this long for the January update
adam Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Too many goals from corners. I can't cope with this shite
Ashley Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 To be fair, the interplay between Neymar, Messi and Suarez is so ridiculously good at times that I'm not sure anyone would know where to begin scripting it in gaming terms. The tactical side can be quite restrictive, though. I'd personally like to see a massive overhaul whereby you completely build offensive and defensive systems separately. It's nigh impossible to fully recreate Leicester in the game, for example, because it somehow baffles FM that an attacking player with attacking duties might also do a hell of a lot of closing down and tackling. I want to be able to have everyone pressing and closing down ridiculously and then springing to attack ridiculously. That may very well result in my whole team being absolutely knackered by the twentieth minute but that's my choice to make. Basically, bring back the ****ing sliders and stop making these newbie cookie cutter positions mandatory. Does the 4-4-2-0-0(or what ever the formation is) not work on it? Seen it posted somewhere vardy and Okazaki are both set as attacking midfielders rather than strikers?http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/share-download-fm-16-tactics/354913-leicester-city-inspired-4-4-2-0-so-not-replica.html This formation
adam Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Has anyone had any success with Leicester? Mid table mediocrity for me every season .
4everfox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Has anyone had any success with Leicester? Mid table mediocrity for me every season . 6th first season, 4th second season, 1st third season so yes. Not been on it in ages but if my memory serves me correctly I was about 20 games into the fourth season sitting 2nd. Waiting for the update. You should change your approach. Fast, direct counter attacking with a deep defensive line worked exceptionally for me for a couple of seasons until my squad was built and then I switched to a more attacking approach for the title winning season.
Darkon84 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Has anyone had any success with Leicester? Mid table mediocrity for me every season . 8th first season if I remember correctly, then first, and from there it was plain sailing, winning at least one thing every year. Once you get over the initial hurdle, it becomes ridiculously easy. The signings other clubs make are terrible, which tends to help.
Nick the Stats Guy Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Would you recommend purchasing Football Manager Touch? It looks good, and the cross-device play sounds interesting, but I'm a bit concerned at the $30.99 price tag. Should I get?

But check your tablet can support it first because not all do (even though it will let you purchase it). If you like the portability of playing on a tablet then it is great. Cross save works ok but it took me a few goes to get it working. Once you save on the laptop or PC you have to log out of Steam before it uploads to the cloud. I find it easier to set up tactics on the PC and then cloud save to the tablet.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Has anyone had any success with Leicester? Mid table mediocrity for me every season . Yeah, won the league cup and finished 3rd every season. Look back and see if you can find Finner's tactics he posted ages ago, it works brilliant for me still. Just stuck Embolo on 170k a week to get rid of his release clause. He's worth 38m now.
Fox92 Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Has anyone had any success with Leicester? Mid table mediocrity for me every season . I finished 13th first season, then 17th, then 14th and just finished my fourth season - 12th but I did win the League Cup. Problem is I still don't pay loads for players. I'm tight in real life and it reflects on the game. Milik is my most expensive signing at £10mill (untill I sadly lost him to Juventus). Mahrez and Vardy are class. I take the point about Drinkwater and Kante but both have been superb for me. Although have to drop one at the minute because I have Jack Wilshere and he is literally so good - bought him for £7.5million and he's now worth £25million.

There are some real bargains to be found out there, I'm not a fan of spending big money for players, although I allow myself to break the bank after a few seasons on certain exceptional players (Pogba for 80 million, Neymar/Kroos for 50 etc). I like to try to sell off half the squad when I start with Leicester, then bring in some cheap youth with potential who either bloom the next season so you can push on or can be sold on for a profit and build from there. Wilshire is a curious one for me, he's really hit or miss. I've had him before and he was incredible, then other times he's absolute shite and seriously inconsistent. His price fluctuates wildly too. I've seen his price get up to 50 million before, which is nonsense
Ozwin Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 When is this bloody update out? It's bloody March. Bloody. Blood.
