Ricey Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Dont get this, just seen on SSN 5 mins ago that we have agreed a deal to sign Inler (SSN sources). Is that old news SSN are reporting and a deal has fallen through since then given the football italia tweet? Agreed a deal means we've agreed a fee with Napoli. The player has allegedly rejected us.
Giggsy77 Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Time to move on, if inler and aranguiz dont want to come, then its time to look elsewhere. I am sure our scouting network have other options.
Callabinho Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Where does it "officially" say Inler has said no?
chapero82 Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Time to move on, if inler and aranguiz dont want to come, then its time to look elsewhere. I am sure our scouting network have other options. I honestly thought our scouting network would find out if s player would want to come first
Nalis Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Thanks for the explanation. Yeah as said above you would think the scouts would have established this. Maybe they thought he was attainable, oh well...
ARM1968 Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Wouldn't give up hope just yet. Give it a few days. Kantes in the bag. So we can play the game.
dave_the_fox Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 I honestly thought our scouting network would find out if s player would want to come first Isn't that classed as "tapping up"?? I have no idea genuine question because it seems to be happening a lot e.g. Bayer with Aranguiz etc
ARM1968 Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 You certainly don't approach the player first that is for sure.
Giggsy77 Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Scouting players is simply their job, finding out if they would join is surely Rudkin and Co's job. You cant talk to the player without talking to the club first. Like I say, if they don't want to come then move on.
kingpowerout Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Surely most clubs would get a "feel" for whether a player would be interested in joining before making an official bid to the club otherwise the bidding club just risk em embarrassment when a number of players turn them down. Rudkin is fairly inexperienced in player recruitment so is probably playing it by the book when most other more experienced DOF's would sound the player out in secret first.
Giggsy77 Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 I cant see the owners letting Rudkin handle things like this if he is that experienced. You have to get permission to talk to the player first from the club. Otherwise, that would be tapping up and that you can be punished for.
lgfualol Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 According to random Napoli reddit fan he says Inler doesnt want to move because he loves Napoli too much.
kingpowerout Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Agreed but it just feels like something is not quite going to plan with the execution of these signings...I'm not panicking as I was only saying to my old man last night that it's a breathe of fresh air to be linked with these global names rather than the James McArthur and David McGoldricks of this world!
Callabinho Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 You wouldn't ask a player if he fancies joining before bidding, as soon as his agent gets wind of it it would be "Leicester are preparing a huge offer for my player", bids go in, club accepts and then it's up to the player to accept/reject. Likely hood is he doesn't actually know anything about the club, I imagine the deal was out on the table and his representatives discussed it with him, I doubt he ever once had a conversation with anyone at LCFC, which is a loser straight away.
ARM1968 Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Actually discussing it face to face with the player should have been a priority. How can you sell an unknown quantity to someone without giving them some insight first. Seems our negotiators are a bit rubbish.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Another has been doesn't want to come to Leicester shocker
Dan Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Sky aren't even a source nowadays for me. They just summarise the bollocks on Twitter. They've lost credibility.
Riot Van Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Agreed but it just feels like something is not quite going to plan with the execution of these signings...I'm not panicking as I was only saying to my old man last night that it's a breathe of fresh air to be linked with these global names rather than the James McArthur and David McGoldricks of this world! McArthur is a very good player and it's a shame we don't have him.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 McArthur is a very good player and it's a shame we don't have him. I can't get my head around why we haven't gone in for Jedinak.
Master Fox Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 McArthur is a very good player and it's a shame we don't have him. Pearson master stroke that one. Well done Nige
Riot Van Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Pearson master stroke that one. Well done Nige To be fair, the club did mug him off by having talks but saying 'nah we've got Cambiasso instead'. Funny though because McArthur played Cambiasso off the pitch at the away palace game.
Claridge Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Still nothing about him wanting to come here.rSky say we have signed him
Claridge Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 It's all happening now... Aranguiz and Inler looking more likely according to skysports. Must be likely as its appeared on their news app! Sky reporting bid accepted and in talks
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Scouting players is simply their job, finding out if they would join is surely Rudkin and Co's job. You cant talk to the player without talking to the club first. Like I say, if they don't want to come then move on. This is nieve thinking. Talking directly to the player may be off limits, but speaking to a representative / putting in feelers certainly isn't. Possibly the problem the club have had here is they've spoken to an agent who's not the one closest to the player and suggested there would be interest from the player.
