Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler is reportedly ready to accept a move to Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City.

The Swiss international had been hesitant about the transfer, even after the clubs agreed terms for €4.5m.

He was offered a contract worth €2m per season at the Premier League side.

Inler was initially unimpressed by the idea of this move, but Il Mattino newspaper claims Leicester and Napoli have worn him down.

This is also because Schalke 04 retracted their interest when hearing the asking price.

The deal could go through after tonight’s friendly between the Partenopei and Porto.

If he does agree to sign, surely he will make a break for it when they take the handcuffs off?

Agree 100% what on earth is the point of dragging players in kicking and screaming ? would ruin the whole ethos of the club, we need players that WAN`T to play for LCFC not ones that are just settling for it.

Thats all well and good but you have to remember that the vast majority of players that would willingly come to Leicester at the drop of a hat are almost certainly not as good as the players we have to convince to come here (because they believe in the first instance they could probably do better than us).   Thats just the market we are in when we are a bottom half premiership side unfortunately and thats the way it will be until we become a regular premiership team.

As long as he gets his head down when he is here, it is a great signing. I trust our scouting department to have some idea about a player's character.

At least Gelsenkirchen is about as nice as Leicester to live in, Naples is nice in a corrupt sort of a way.

No one comes here kicking and screaming.

We're after players that are also wanted by higher profile clubs so we have to work hard to get them, it will be nobody's dream move.

If and when they do come we have to hope that they are professional enough to give their all as this is one of the traits that got them to this level of football. We weren't Cambiasso's dream club but he gave us everything he had.

Suppose once they are in and part of a strong group with a good team spirit and comradery, hopefully with a winning mentality their attitude to being with us would soon change.

I never expected to get Aringuiz (sp.) to be honest but Inler was more realistic. If this comes off it'll truly be a great bit of business.

No one appears to want to join Leicester but they learn to love the place, this guy will be the same...plus a few nice bonus payments!

once they see the great vista that is new parks.....they fall in love..
