I think many people are overrating the standing of LCFC in the european football business, especially compared with clubs like Leverkusen. They maybe don't have the big money, but they have an excellent reputation. Ballack, Berbatov, Lucio, Vidal, Kroos, Carvajal are only a few names who had their breakthrough there and currently they have an ambitious squad full of young highclass talents, who maybe will play CL. Money is nothing, when you can't show the players a perspective. And we can't!

No-one's over-rating anything. We've had plenty of top-class stars through here like Banks, Shilton, Gibson, Worthington, McLintock, Allan Clarke and I'm not at all sure the Leverkusen youngsters would beat our own either.

Truth is we've bid he highest and if Leverkusen are using their reputation to buy someone on the cheap you can hardly blame the selling club for standing their ground.

If I've got something for sale at a certain price and the richest guy in the world tries to beg it then I'll happily sell to a pauper with better manners and more determination.

Not that I give a toss about Inler. If he doesn't want to play here I'm not sure why we'd continue giving him the time of day, let alone inflated earnings.

There's something in The Times saying he has spoken personally to Claudio Ranieri and now will sign

Story after story being re-hashed. What you have to do is read back through the thread and establish a time line for yourself. Truth is we don't know what is going on.

Wow. We aint bigger than Schalke 04? Have they ever won the bundesliga, or many cups? Yes their stadiums big and theyre considered fairly big in Germany, but they ain't massive. We have the potential to rival such teams in coming years I really believe that.

Attaboy!

For those who speak German, here's a rather unflattering take on us re. the Aranguiz and Inler deals. Hints that LCFC is a regional non-entity punching above its weight on the transfer market and which, I quote, has become "an irritant which doesn't know where to spend its TV money".

Well it's not like the Germans to be arrogant at all...i really don't know what's got into them!

Wasn't he give 48hrs to sign for us like 60 hours ago?

No, I doubt it. The sources where all this "information" about this deal, are spurious at best. Mostly on Twitter, so hardly reliable. As always, there are complications galore. We'll just have to wait and see.

With that kind of attitude you're never going to get anywhere.

I'm sure he had a 48 hour deadline to sign for us ..........

About a fortnight ago

Think it was 48 hours for Schalke to up their bid.

Agent looking around for best possible deal and no doubt playing clubs against each other, the same as the Cambiasso deal last yr.

He's been Claudio's top target all along and from the sounds of it we're pretty confident of getting it over the line

Albert said yesterday that the club are confident of getting this done. Albert is probably considered this forums most reliable itk source. Until I hear differently from a comparable source, I would suggest negotiations are still ongoing.

Albert was more than likely right yesterday, problem is a big bid (wages and fee) from Schalke does change things.

Agree, but my point is, do we know anything has changed re the an increased shalke bid? Again, I think that info comes from a poor source. Anyway, it'll all come out in the wash. It's highly frustrating for all and confusing if you read and believe everything that's posted as gospel.
