dmayne7 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 He didn't, no. Well, he put them in the same category, which is technically a comparison. As tezzed as I am, I'm pretty confident he said a Zidane or Del Piero. Maybe read the original post or learn the definition of words. Just a thought
filbertstreet Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 David Nugent was there to watch him tonight. don't know why he never got more chances with england, he scored a harry kane-esque cracker when he got capped
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Woy is pleased with Kanes performance? He must be the only cvnt that is
AKCJ Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Well, he put them in the same category, which is technically a comparison. As tezzed as I am, I'm pretty confident he said a Zidane or Del Piero. Maybe read the original post or learn the definition of words. Just a thought He's talking about people talking about del piero and zidane as greats of the game whereas players like torres have had spells where they've been world class and spells when they've been shite. but you know, you might like to read the words next time
lgfualol Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 HARRY KANE DID SOME FANTASTIC WORK APPARENTLY WHO ****ING KNEW My respect for Roy would have gone through the roof if he was honest and said "the mouth-breather little **** was shit"
foxes_rule1978 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Woy is pleased with Kanes performance? He must be the only cvnt that is Wtf? now that is just stupid, I can only imagine he is saying that to help with confidence a little... A bit odd because he was useless
Guest Col city fan Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 HARRY KANE DID SOME FANTASTIC WORK APPARENTLY WHO ****ING KNEW What game was that saggy sod watching?
The Doctor Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 I never knew you were a Scotland fan Doc? Was, don't think I've watched a scotland game since the spain game in 2011, just couldn't care less these days. We scored two, and their keeper made some good saves? how is that not posing a threat... if Leicester win a PL game like that I would say we played well and was very professional, never allowed the opposition a look in... Scored two, did very little else. I remember the keeper being properly tested perhaps once. Most of the time Kane was losing control of his legs instead.
Fox92 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 England aren't poverty, that's the thing, they should be comfortable quarters every tournament, yet they aren't. We'll go nowhere with Hodgson in charge and his defensive football. Said it all along.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Ian Wright absolutely loves Vardy doesn't he? Guess he loves the fact he has come from non-league football to England international like he did

Scored two, did very little else. I remember the keeper being properly tested perhaps once. Most of the time Kane was losing control of his legs instead. But he did it with great technique
shen Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Ian Wright absolutely loves Vardy doesn't he? Probably because they share a similar rise through the ranks in their respective careers

The Doctor Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 We'll go nowhere with Hodgson in charge and his defensive football. Said it all along. Well no, but England actually have some good players, you're not poverty, just completely brain-dead. You've got great counter-attacking players like Ox, Sterling and Walcott but you insist on trying to outpass Spain. Not going to happen.
Corky Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Guess he loves the fact he has come from non-league football to England international like he did Probably because they share a similar rise through the ranks in their respective careers Yeah, he's mentioned it several times before. Really good to hear a great striker praising someone who isn't at his level but appreciates what he's got.
dmayne7 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 He's talking about people talking about del piero and zidane as greats of the game whereas players like torres have had spells where they've been world class and spells when they've been shite. but you know, you might like to read the words next time 'Could well have gone down as a Zidane or a Del Piero of the game.' Sorry kid. No mention in the above quote of the way people would talk about him. Putting Del Piero and Zidane in the same comparison against Rooney as he did with Crespo and Torres against Rooney. That, in my book, constitutes as comparison. But you know, you might like to read the words next time So yes, he is comparing Rooney to Del Piero. Irrelevant if he put anything else before as this is what we're talking about.

I agree the tactics aren't great even against sides that come at us I'm hoping we change it up for those games, but in a game when the opposition stick 10 behind the ball you can't really use pace so effectively
Socks Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Well played Jamie lad. Keep playing the way you do and you will go to Euro 2016. No doubt about it. Well done
dmayne7 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Well no, but England actually have some good players, you're not poverty, just completely brain-dead. You've got great counter-attacking players like Ox, Sterling and Walcott but you insist on trying to outpass Spain. Not going to happen. Bang on.

Irrelevant if he put anything else before as this is what we're talking about. You realise when he says they could have gone down as a del piero or a Zidane that he means they could have gone down as being genuine quality for an entire career, instead they'll go down as a torres or a crespo, i.e. go down as someone who was quality in patches. The words actually quite clearly support AKCJ.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Bang on. I don't recall an England team for a long time that actually play to the strengths of the players we have available... it is frustrating, probably have to go back to 2004 to see an England side thar did that. Unless we magically get players like Xavi and Iniesta we will struggle against the big sides with this passing style
adam Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Pathetic management but Roy. No subs until 70 mins .How does that Tottenham bloke get in the squad .4 starts for Tottenham. If he played for a lesser team he wouldn't get a look in.
