Vardy and England

Ian Wright, Vardy's new biggest fan, thinks England need to play pacier football.

Now he's bigging Vardy up.

Wrighty for England manager.

Delighted for the Vardster. Really showing he can be an asset for England. Lovely composure in that situation to look up and pick Sterling out.

I agree, we never use our potential pace to our advantage, instead we work on lumping it to the target man.

As an attacking midfielder, you either split the lines with great passing or you score goals.

You don't hold on to the ball until you get tackled.

"Over the moon with my performance". Ross, you have so much to learn.

Follow is a strong word - in 2011 yeah, I don't really watch international football unless there's a leicester player involved these days.

So comfortable they only managed five chances all match, two of which were kane blocking his own volleys. England were lethargic and lucky that they were playing against a side even more impotent going forward.

It was comfortable, we were never under threat... or under any danger of not picking up the three points tonight. That is what you call comfortable

Pablo, It's all gone quiet over there.

We can see you sneaking out!

You are all hugely sad. Vardy isn't even from Leicester. He would be off quick as Anything if a club bigger than us came in for him. And hoping your country loses because Jamie vardy isn't in the starting line up. Wow

Not a bad little cameo from Jamie ...   but expect the little Shef Wed supporting ba**ard will be off to Man City now !!

Chris Waddle talking more sense about Vardy now. Saying don't bother taking him to France unless he's going to be played in position (ie not as a left winger). Of course though the discussion is all about how wonderful Rooney is.

Never really posed a threat either. Just face it, England are shadow of the side they were a decade ago.

A slight nudge said Clive lol Just shoved him out of the way. Neat ball across, will boost his confidence around the squad.

I never knew you were a Scotland fan Doc?

We scored two, and their keeper made some good saves? how is that not posing a threat... if Leicester win a PL game like that I would say we played well and was very professional, never allowed the opposition a look in...

And they may actually talk and pass to him now as well!

When has anyone said otherwise on here?!

Just put Pearson in charge. He'll have Drinky, Albrighton, Matty James, Nuge around him- it'll be like two years ago.

I haven't suggested we are the side we were 10 years ago... we still have a lot to prove, but felt the performance tonight was decent and keeps the 100% record going... plus to say a side never posed a threat when they scored two against you is a bit silly really... plus their keeper made some good stops.

David Nugent was there to watch him tonight.

He'd have been a better choice than most of that starting lineup.
