I thought he was good but not exceptional.

I agree with this.

I've been a massive critic but he looked a decent player today and was very good on the ball for a centre half.

He played 2 or 3 stunning crossfield balls that landed on the foot of a winger

This. His distribution was excellent last night. Comfortable with either foot too which you rarely see in a CB.

on tonight's performance he could be challenging very soon for a first team start. He was assured and confident on the ball which is a trait sorely lacking in our current pairing. I think in his first few games he was just to eager to impress.

Can see why our scouts have brought him in now.  Although Morgan does occasionally step out with the ball he isn't great at it and rarely finds a good pass.

If we can get Benny to take out this reckless nature of his he'll be decent.  Saying that, he looked far more composed last night than we had seen in previous games.

Thought he was still shite first half hour, maybe even first half, I'm not sure. Second half and extra time though I finally saw something from him. No ****ing way he is starting against Arsenal though.

Wrong AGAIN Foxy :-) , He should start alongside Wes, Huth has been suspect so far, the 3 suited him better !

Actually agree with that more than dropping Wes. Still a bit knee-jerk though.

Thought he was fantastic last night and him and Wasyl complimented each other very well.

You felt a real presence with Benny about, other than a couple of mistimed headers and an occasional tackle where he dived in and got nothing, he was very commanding and his positioning was good. His distribution was outstanding too. If it was up to me, I'd have a back 3 of Wasyl, Benny and Huth, 3 centre backs who know what to do with a football at their feet.

Agreed.

I was concerned he was a card waiting to happen on first viewings. I thought he looked really composed last night. Worth a shot in the middle of defence.

Further shows the strength in depth we now have.

That's not even a photoshop

I like to think he's seen what Inler can do with Photoshop, and trying to do the same with Microsoft paint.

Genuinely think he will be a solid player for us. Look solid at CB against Westham in the cup and tbh pretty decent when he came on at rb today. Think he was off the pace when he came, now looks match fit and pretty damn good. His and Fuchs distribution is good too.

Did not realise but he has really messed up his international hopes. As a youngster he played for France U21s, then completed all the paperwork stating he would pledge to the Tunisian national team. He then changed his mind and so is in some kind of limbo.
