EGBFitness Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 So you can only use the formations you used in Pre season? This is crazy talk from some of you. RANIERI OUT....... No... you said you have to try these formations out so I said you do your trying out in pre season. I also agreed with you though that formations have to be played with depending on opponents, we tried out something that is clearly not working- this was clear from the first 10 mins but we have failed to revert to a style that does work for us. I expected Bournemouth to come out and attack but we have invited it to happen, can barely think of a time we have been in their half- this is a team that has been praised for its high pressuring counter attacking style. Let's be honest, this is the worst we have played in a long time, Bournemouth have looked shit but we have still made them look half decent. Where in any of my comments to you or in previous posts have I put Ranieri out??
HitchinFox Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Ideas?Okazaki for King? Start defending higher up, put more pressure on them? Okazaki's running could create space for Mahrez?
The Doctor Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Even though we were up against it nearly all game against spurs and arguably could have just have easily got hammered than snuck a win... Clearly it wasnt a "winning" formation against spurs.... It was against sunderland who are terrible, and we were lucky to get away from west ham without conceding more. Bournemouth are a different team and we have tried a different formation with 3 in the centre, it's not worked... so let's change it... Not "It's not worked lets all slag the manager" You'll soon be calling for him to tinker when we go 2-0 down playing a 442 wont you? Well we weren't, the spurs game we drew enough going forward to win and they didn't do that much going forward - but beyond that counter is the best way to play bournemouth, don't change to contain, play our own game, particularly when our own game is perfect for facing a side like this.
Bettsj2 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Bad half. Not sure about all the 'relieved its only 1-0'. Has Kasper had loads of saves to make whilst my stream is buffering? Bournemouth play some nice stuff but overall the game has been pretty terrible.
Master Fox Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Drinkwater, Riyad, De Laet have all been shocking
Fox92 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Which is why we needed more than one attacker, we've played counter football all season with the 4-4-2 and it works, because we've got bodies going forward to aim for rather than isolating Vardy. He shouldn't have changed it, we were playing perfectly for against bournemouth, but he's bottled it because he was so desperate for a clean sheet, but 0-0 is not better than 3-2. It's worked because the oppositions are set up differently. Sunderland came to draw and set up with one up front. We'd win every week if every opposition played like this.
Kitchandro Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Haha yer lets put a slow CB who is known for making rash decisions in at rb with a ref that is trigger happy with his cards. That was crap! That formation does not work for us, we have been here before. Why are we adapting our game for another team? We should be playing our system, our way and hitting them hard with pace. He better change this at half time, and learn from your mistake! Don't tinker with a successful team! This is the same thing we were saying for 5 months last season when Pearson wouldn't learn. We finally did the right thing around March/April time and it worked wonders. I've got no patience for the same bullshit again. It's common sense.

They are completely bossing central midfield and we have 3 players there.
KP Fox Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Don't know why we are singling out De Laet. He's not played any worse than any of our other players. We played worse than Sunderland did in that first half back at our place.
matty98 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 King, Kante, Drinkwater and De Laet have all been really poor so far Kante's been decent imo
thegaffa Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 De laet is pi55 poor and ball watches, Bournemouth haven't been great we've just been awful, personally I'd take off drinky, king and de laet . Play 3-5-2 with inler and Kante sitting and mahrez behind vardy and shinji
Kitchandro Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Has to be said our goal should not have been chalked off, was never offside - what happened to giving the benefit of the doubt to the attacker? This is also true.
yorkie1999 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 4 defenders and 5 midfeilders and they have 10% more possession. Leicester don't do defending and possession. In the meantime we have to wait till CR works this out.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Fvck me some of these comments. It was obvious he would change it. Bournemouth are very open; they aren't like the other teams we've played. Winning the ball back and hitting them on the counter is the way most teams will approach Bournemouth away. But that's our game anyway and is how we approached the first three ties in a 4-4-2.... This is almost like we're trying to play the same style of counter-attacking football but with a flooded midfield and sitting deep; we don't have the defensive quality to play like this and the formation is leaving Vardy desperately isolated. Kante (at a push Morgan) pretty much the only player who escapes with any credit from that dire first half. One of the central midfielders has to be dragged for Shinji immediately or we won't get a thing from this game.

Very difficult to counter attack with only one up front. As has been proven in that half. We are a counter attacking team with at least two, if not the three which was employed to great effect - see April onwards. Ranieri has made a mistake here. Let's hope HE knows how to rectify it.
eunmac Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Who is this team we are watching today? Worst half of lcfc in a long long time. May as well bring on Dodoo.

norwichfox Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Hang on...lets look at some of the positives....oh fcuk! there weren't any. Can see us finishing up with 10 men or less we're winning most of our (reluctant to use the word most really) balls by fouling. DeLaet off, sooner see Benny there if someones going to get a red card he may aws well live uo to the rep he's earned on the forum...or CR could pull off a real master-stroke and bring on Dodoo for Mahrez who's had an absolute stinker.
Buzzell Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Not on my pure clear stream. Share that bastard stream!
BlueSi13 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Bad half. Not sure about all the 'relieved its only 1-0'. Has Kasper had loads of saves to make whilst my stream is buffering? Bournemouth play some nice stuff but overall the game has been pretty terrible. Because it means we're still in the match. 2-0 and it's pretty much game over away from home most of the time.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 De laet is pi55 poor and ball watches, Bournemouth haven't been great we've just been awful, personally I'd take off drinky, king and de laet . We'd win every week if every opposition played like this. Our game was always letting teams come forward then driving back at them - we did that with sunderland, we let them bring it forward then hit them. We play best on the counter, have done for at least 2 years - bournemouth play in a way that makes them vulnerable to counters at pace - like the ones we were playing. It's a bottle job to abandon the counter attacking football, pure and simple.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 It's half time lads and lassies. We are a single goal down to a side who many had written off before a ball had been kicked in anger. A side who, to stay in the division, needed to win games at home. We've seen we can score goals so start believing. If we lose this game, we lose it. It's not the end of the world.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Now we'll see a bit more of Ranieri's mettle. He's done well but has had everything going his way so far, lets see what he can produce when the chips are down.
Brooksy Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Inler, Okazaki and Benalouane on. No ****ing about just go for it
