He was arguing that we should drop a midfielder for a striker, My argument that was even with an extra midfielder we are losing the midfield battle. Dropping to 2 cms will make it even worse.

He wasn't getting into the game so you've got to find a formation/position that suits him rather than just hauling him off. Could easily have brought on Benalouane for De Laet and Shinji on for one of the midfielders and gone to a 3-5-2, had Mahrez in the middle affecting the game while not worrying about defensive work.
