Worst moment was Wes Morgan breaking from defence and looking for a pass and none of the midfielders made themselves available, leaving Wes to dribble 20 yards. Drinkwater, King and Kante need a Ranieri rocket buried in their backsides, because that was shameful from all three of them.

Ranieri changing formation for the first time in 4 games and it's a criminal offence, get a grip ffs and let the players play into the game. What are you talking about? We played pre season with 3 at the back. First game comes around and he changes to 4 at the back (442). Now, against a newly promoted team he puts 5 in midfield only to fit Kante in and isolate our striker. He can still right his mistakes but nobody has called for him to piss about with the 3-4-1-2 OR the 4-4-2 but he has. Results and performances should dictate changes of formation and style and our results were pretty good. Claudio made a mistake. If he brings Shinji on then he will be attempting to right that mistake, let's hope we can still get the win.

Mahrez getting crowded out, i'd stick kante out wide and pull mahrez behind vardy, if they're going to stick 3 men n mahrez and vardy every time they get the ball then we can create space for the wingers by bringing mahrez more central

Drinkwater and King are having off days. Albrighton, Mahrez, Vardy not had a chance. This is where managers make their money, let's see what CR does.

We're always going to have days like this though (I fear some of our support has gotten a little ahead of itself after the decent start). Not gonna qualify for champions league like this!!

Kitchandro Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Well the change in formation has clearly not worked at all, as expected. It needs to be changed immediately. And, as expected, De Laet is not good enough and is being poorly backed up by Mahrez. Even with 3 in the central midfield, we've been overrun, in fact we've been murdered in all honesty. We can't get hold of the ball and when we do we can't get it forward uick enough as Vardy is so isolated and the wingers are so deep. It's all so glaringly obvious that we need to go back to the 3-5-2 we finished last season with - dropping the poor full backs (Schlupp is much better as a wing back, he's not a defender) and playing Mahrez where he's most dangerous, in a free role in the whole behind the front 2. This would help us defensively and keep the attacking danger we started the season with. This is the sort of thing the manager will be judged on, does he have the balls and brain power to rectify his mistake and make sure they're never made again?

That was crap! That formation does not work for us, we have been here before. Why are we adapting our game for another team? We should be playing our system, our way and hitting them hard with pace. He better change this at half time, and learn from your mistake! Don't tinker with a successful team!

I thought perhaps people were overreacting to Ranieri's change coming in but it appears not. I hope there are changes coming imminently cause this is obviously not working. Need a strong start to the 2nd and things can be turned around quickly, though I'm not optimistic... Hope I'm wrong.

Well I'd have expected him to experiment in preseason rather than use what he knows is our preferred formation, and then not use that in the league and experiment there
