lgfualol Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 Just seen who else is nominated. Would be an achievement if he beat those lot.
VLC86 Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 How this guy never won he Ballon D'or let alone this award I will never know.
Thracian Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 Of course they're a compliment- he's a winger. He makes things happen for us. 'Ball greedy' is such a lazy criticism to aim at him. He's not 12. What's "12" got to do with it. He's ball greedy and if you doubt me you've got your eyes closed. In what way is the criticism "lazy". It's frank and uncontestable as far as I can see. Some games he's plays for almost an entire half on his own. Knockaert was the same but without the end product. I actually appreciate the end product and cut him some slack inconsequence but some o the things he does and the places he does them in are optimistic beyond belief and so often leave various players out of the game in just the same way that Knockaert did. He needs to improve his decision making both for himself and for the team...so to keep defenders guessing and to make us a little sounder as a unit. Either we aim to set the highest standards or we'll stick with your concept of things and be satisfied being one of the makeweights.
Thracian Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 Ah, I see there are a few claiming he is overrated now, even a suggestion of dropping him. I wonder how many points we'd be on without him? I bet if Vardy had a bad game they wouldn't talk of dropping him, but then again they are Leicester fans. Lots of people talked about dropping Vardy when he played badly.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 Anyone who can't see what Riyad has given us so far this year and why he excels is a fvcking moron, I'm afraid. The only criticism I could think to level at him is he doesn't play every game like he did against Villa. But then if he did he'd win the Ballon D'or every fvcking year, wouldn't he?

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 I'm not referring to any one or any individual post, just saying if you're somebody who doesn't see what he brings to the team and why he's so important to us, you must be a bit off in the head.

I find it absolutely astonishing that you could criticise him after how he's played this season. I'm not sure we've had anyone quite like him in the last 30 years? We should treasure him.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 All this chatter made me have a sad nostalgic thought process for Knockaert. I miss Tony now.
AKCJ Posted 11 October 2015 Posted 11 October 2015 All this chatter made me have a sad nostalgic thought process for Knockaert. I miss Tony now. yeah its made me think of josh low and levi porter too. miss those guys

Same thing could be said for anyone who doesn't realize that he's not yet a complete player and does still have some things to work on. I don't think anyone on here is discounting the amazing things he's done already this season. But it doesn't take a genius to see how often he goes into over-dribble mode which leads to a lost ball or missing a wide open teammate. What does he have, 3 assists this year? He could have double that.

filbertstreet Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 3 assists 5 goals from 7 starts, didn't realise how crap he was!! Terrible player, need to sell him asap, probably worth less than what we paid for him now
EGBFitness Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 yeah its made me think of josh low and levi porter too. miss those guys Seen Levi yesterday, he was playing on the opposite pitch to me

Would you prefer that or something?! And one of those points is generous considering if he wasn't playing in the second half against Villa we'd never have turned it around.
EGBFitness Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Not quite sure how people can slate Mahrezs performances. He didn't have a great game against arsenal but surely he is allowed an off day. Personally I think he was tired for that game, he didn't look himself and then was rested following game. People need to understand that not every player is built to the same mould. It's quite clear Mahrez has a license to attack freely. He isn't the strongest of players and he doesn't defend well but having a threat like Riyad hanging high up the pitch as we are defending is also going to stop the opponents wing backs coming further forward as they know how dangerous he is.
Banks Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 You get moronic fans at every club, I'm sure we have more than most though. You're a **** if you're complaining about Riyad.
MrSpaM Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Teams have started marking him out the game now, that's the reason his performances have been dropping. Even Arsenal had 3 players on him pretty much the whole game.

Even Arsenal had 3 players on him pretty much the whole game. if your a lesser team and you mark someone out the game with more than 1 player on mahre it qill opens up space at different parts of the pitch that we can exploit.. so let them do that
Guest ttfn Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Wish we could go back to wingers who stuck diligently to their defensive duties like Alan Maybury
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Some people are hilarious. I've said it before but I'll say it again the same ones who bang on and on about how he hogs the ball and loses it too much scream just as loud as the rest of us when he beats 3 men and sticks it in the top corner. Full on hypocrites. As someone said on here a while ago you don't get the rainbow without the rain.
