Mahrez

Mahrez has 36 successful takes ons this season. Second is Hazard on 26, third Sanchez on 21. He is brilliant at what he does, and is pretty much the first name on our teamsheet. Makes things happen and provides the magic we need.

People who suggest he is a greedy player are pretty thick.

I ain't rimming him when he's apparently world class.... And I ain't slating him either now.. I love direct skillful football but whether you like it or not he does need to look for a pass some of the time. Cheers

Mahrez needs to help himself by quickly passing and moving some of the time and taking people on when there's at least a little light to be seen in the distance.

Too often of late he's become predictable by taking the opposition on as a matter of course and almost always on the inside. Part of a winger's skill is to keep defenders guessing.

As for being "World Class" that conjures pictures of Cristiano Ronaldo and, latterly people such as George Best. Mahrez has a million miles to travel yet before justifying that handle.

He's not even the best he can be himself yet.

"If you want the rainbow you have to put up with the rain."

Do you know which "philosopher" said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she's just a big pair of tits.

What no pictures of those weapons to go with her quote, shame on you foxtalk. If I knew how, I would do it myself.

Think about it....those stats aren't necessarily a compliment. The others might have beaten one man then passed to a man in the space left behind the next. Stats paint colours into pictures that aren't actually there. When it comes to analysis they're a sentence or a paragraph  - not the full story.

Of course they're a compliment- he's a winger. He makes things happen for us. 'Ball greedy' is such a lazy criticism to aim at him. He's not 12.

Mahrez needs to keep doing what he's doing until it's no longer effective and if that ever happens then he needs to find other ways to unlock defences. He's good enough to continue to rip teams apart but he's also the sort of player that will have very, very frustrating games. If we want the rainbow put up with the bastard rain.

Nominated for PFA player of the month for September, I can't see him winning it as he is against Payet and Martial

Don't think he's been as good in September as he was in August. Had mainly a stinker at Arsenal and was kept largely quiet at Stoke, even though he proved crucial with his peno and flick-on to Vardy.

Deserved it for August, not been at the races for the last two though.

Given Okazaki is struggling, Mahrez can't defend, Albrighton is better on the right, and Fuchs is crying out for a start, is there any reason we can't have Schlupp and Albrighton as wingers feeding Mahrez as 10 behind Vardy? That's silly amounts of pace, and a lot more secure than we've had lately... I think that 10 will be his most dangerous position, and give him most freedom to do what he wants. It's also where he ends up whenever we go behind, spurring our comebacks...

Also, Was in for Huth please. Cheers Claudio!

I must admit I was surprised to see him nominated. Vardy should of been above Mahrez.

Indeed, Vardy has been pretty much flawless this past month. Scoring two against Arsenal, one of which was his best goal yet this season, gets largely overlooked because we conceded five, scores the important equaliser against Stoke and the crucial leveller against Villa. Bloody 'eck 4 goals in 3 matches and doesn't even get nominated. Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Where are the nominations?

I've only seen the list for the Fans player of the month award, not the official PFA award voted for by the committee.

Just let the lad get on with it, everyone has a bad game. A player that is willing to drive forward and take on players for fun is always more exposed and susceptible to losing the ball more than someone that plays it safe

Leave Huth in and replace Morgan with Benny.

Huth's been worse than Morgan. Why is it that we can excuse Huth but as soon as Morgan has a poor match people are screaming for him to get left out?

Huth gets a pass because in my opinion he was the main reason we pulled off the greatest of great escapes :P

Probably needs to be dropped if it makes him pull his finger out.
