Guest Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 of course he can still run at defenders there, Okazaki drops so deep he's almost in midfield, Riyad could do the same You missed the point , he can run but he isn't capable of running at defenders like Vards and Oka. Or haven't you watched him.
BrummieFOX Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 I'd be suprised if he doesn't start tomorrow. I understood the thinking behind resting him in the last two, potentially tough, away games. But he should be back to full fitness now and there's no reason not to play him.

Wymsey Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 He's seemed to bulk up a bit, which is good as I thought he get pushed about too easily in his early days here.
Freesolo Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 There is no way the likes of Mahrez are leaving for £15m -£20m, it's not a "life changing" amount of money for us now and we don't replace players like Mahrez. You only have to watch him to know he's not a flash in the pan and he can do things only very few players on this planet can do, that's obvious skill not luck. If Everton can resist £35m for Stones and West Brom £20m for Berahino then we'll find it a piece of piss to refuse £15m-£20m for a player who has 3.5 years left on his contract. We've already been linked with a £20m move for Breece Embolo so why would we suddenly get weak at the knees as soon as we get an eight figure offer for a player? It would be pathetic if we started salivating at any half decent offer for one of our main players. Do we really need any more attacking players? I want to see a class defender or two come in.
foxes21 Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Mahrez in the CAM role would be more effective when we are on the counter, away from home where teams will leave space whilst on the attack. He was ineffective against Palace because they had 11 players behind the ball leaving no room for Riyad to shine. Would you persist with Mahrez in CAM? Shinji had a good game today... I guess they are both suited to different circumstances. Good headache to have?
4everfox Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Lets just slap a 40 million price tag each on Mahrez and Vardy.
Stevosevic Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 That pass was awesome. Most players would have taken a touch and the chance would have been gone. Mahrez new it had to be played first time and had the ability to pull it off.

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 That's the great thing about our Riyad even if he has a bit of a stinker you always know he can pull a touch of class out of thin air to change a game. Needs to be on the pitch whenever he is fit enough.
Clever Fox Posted 26 October 2015 Posted 26 October 2015 CR was right to leave him out as he was showing signs of fatigue. Tthat's understandable he's still a young lad and developing nicely adding muscle and strength to his slim frame. Now he's back looking good again. Schlupp is also looking a bit tired and needs a rest. Managing the squad is a big part of the modern game.
Dickov22 Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 In what way did Shinji have a good game? I thought Okasaki was better than he's been in ages against Palace. Held the ball up well, broke their play up, linked play and looked stronger.
Tommy G Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 His Mrs had a baby last week and he still got an assist! He was also at the hospital the night before the Southampton game and drove down in the morning, reason why he only came on at HT

st albans fox Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 What secrecey? It's quite usual for a players absence or appearance on the bench to be explained re a child being born. The media have been commenting on riyad being benched without knowing or offering the reasons. He's quite entitled to keep his personal life private but where it impinges on team selection, I would have thought something would have been released by the media people.

lgfualol Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Anyone know if it's a baby boy? Should get him signed on a contract if he could be as good as his dad.
Wymsey Posted 27 October 2015 Posted 27 October 2015 Anyone seen his wife before? Always seen Mahrez at the stadium on his own away from the pitch mostly.
