Leicester's internationals 2015/16

Recommended Posts

Surely Shinji has a good chance to make it to 50 goals for Japan over these next 2 fixtures which Japan should realistically be winning 7 or 8 nil.

Also could overtake Harry Panayioutou's hilarious club record of being the player to have scored the most international goals while at Leicester.

Japan v Afghanistan starts in 45 minutes (10.30 am UK time).  It's a World Cup qualifier. Honda and Kagawa look like starting from the bench because of tiredness from the long trip from Europe. There's talk that Okazaki will be sitting next to them for the same reason. Team news should be out very shortly.

Shinji's role is a bit different for Japan - more of an out and out striker like he was at Mainz. He seems in second gear at the moment - as does the whole team. It's pretty low key. A Shinji heat map would look very different to the Leicester version - much smaller area of the field. Though if Afghanistan could only get out of the own half that might change a little.  He's had a few sharp touches but no chances yet.  Anyone else watching?
