Inler

Anyone else notice the look of relief to be back on a football pitch written all over his face as he ran onto the pitch? Fair play to him for wanting it so much. Obviously it's hard to tell from an outsider's point of view but he seems to have kept his head down and stuck to the task at hand without a hint of sulking.

I don't think King done too much when he came on, I can barely recall him on the ball.

Inler did well though, it seemed like a matter of time before Chelsea equalised but Inler was instrumental in just killing the game off. Inler for me on Saturday.

You what mate? King had a really decent game on Monday. If he's fit, he's got the shirt on Sat without a doubt

I think he will start on Saturday

Especially if we play benny with wes

Neither will happen

He's not got in the team because Kante and DD have done so well.

Now DD is injured, it is his or King's opportunity to step up. I think the player that gets the chance will.

The player that doesn't get the opportunity will understand that this is a squad game, and they will get their chance as the season progresses.

If we play Inler against Everton, I'd protect him in a three man central midfield. This would give him time on the ball to control the central area.

With the pace and quick breaking of Everton I wouldn't have him in a 442 personally.

King's hardly lightening fast though is he? Looked like he was running through treacle (is that even a thing anymore?) not long after he first came on.

I'd like to think he's been working on his fitness since he arrived so should be up to speed, also he's only 31 so i doubt his legs have anywhere gone.

I have faith in him or Kingy to step in to be honest. Interested to see how Claudio approaches this, it's out first away game against one of the more fancied teams in the league isn't it?

If there was a foxestalk secret santa and I got you, i'd definitely be sorting out an Andy King 2016 calendar

Personally wouldn't change our formation bud, if King is fit start with him and Kante hopefully gain he lead and if needs be bring Inler on to Shaw it up to see game out!

Of the midfielders you mean?

lol Come on Col!

lol

I'm wondering whether Scouse genuinely thinks King is quicker than Vardy?

Hence..of the midfielders?

King was involved plenty my only memories of Inler's contribution was two misplaced passes and one dangerously short pass

all i remember inler doing was thinking he was down the road playing for the tigers and booting a ball into touch under no pressure whatsoever

Haha, all the offence intended here, if i see @@ScouseFox mention King, there's no way I'm taking it seriously.

Classic regroup tactic, anybody else would have done the same.

kingy would've played a simple 5 yard pass to a teammate imo

King is a much quicker thinker, Inler takes too much time to decide what to do with the ball which is fine in a passing/possession team something we're currently not although who knows we may move towards that more in the future if we lose both Mahrez and Vardy.

Id rather stick to the formation that has been successful for us through the season, rather than change it to fit a signing that hasn't.

It could work if Ranieri plays both Inler and Kihg, pushing King to the CAM role, because that 4-4-1-1 wouldn't be all that different from what our 4-4-2 has looked like sometimes when Leicester don't have the ball (more often when Okazaki is the 2nd striker). I would be surprised, though, if Ranieri does not go with 2 strikers once again.
