daddylonglegs Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I really want him to do well but the Prembhust isn't for him. Doesn't work hard enough isn't strong enough and doesn't read the game as well as DD and Kante. Loan may be good idea in Jan
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Now I've actually seen him play he's ok. Today, made some decent blocks, first half I thought he was ok. However, second half he started to struggle and IMO looked well off the pace. Which I guess isn't surprising. He's slow and I think will just be too slow for this division. Wouldn't give a toss, to be honest, if he went out on loan. Nowhere near as good as MC makes him out to be. But I'm not at all surprised by that.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Was pretty pish tonight. Just fouled people a and didn't bother getting into a shooting position. Meh James and King are far superior like
fazzyfox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Typical Christmas, everyone moaning about the in-ler's
FireFox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Better than Drinky today. Will be good for next season when we have more fixtures. If he wants, maybe loan him out for his own sake.
Xen Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Was OK. Clearly got some ability, but too slow for the prem and doesn't look to be improving in that regard. A fair few occasions he gave away fouls which if he was a bit sharper would have been OK tackles, and got caught on the ball a few times too. Not a bad player, but one not suited at all to the PL.
ScouseFox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Andy King put in ten times better a performance than that three days ago and got told to fu ck off to league one for 4 pages of his thread. He was awful tonight.
eastendfox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I thought he was ok and did a job first half. Also the only player who could consistently win free kicks from that joke of a ref. But doesn't really suit our style.
foxfanazer Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Just not up to the pace at all tonight. Neither was Drinky but you can put that down to injury and fitness. Really feel like theres a class player in Inler but not sure we're gonna see it in a City shirt. Obviously he is class with the career he's had
Medwayfox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I think if we are going to be genuine Champions League contenders we do need to increase our level of possession in games. Cambiasso was great at holding the ball up in central midfield and unfortunately Inler is no Cambiasso.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Bit of a mixed bag I thought, some lovely passes in the second half particularly but at times he struggles massively with the pace of the game and gets hurried into poor passes. If he can get to grip with the pace then he could be a good player for us but can he do that at his age?
lee7 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 You can tell if he had a couple of seconds more time on the ball then he'd look half decent but he gets rushed and makes simple mistakes then because he's so slow he can't rectify them. I would let him go in January
anglodan Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Typical Christmas, everyone moaning about the in-ler's Won't lie, this tickled me a lot
TOMBlcfc Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Thought he was solid tonight personally. Did very well defensively and was good in possession, a couple of times he held on too long but didn't give the ball away anywhere near the amount Kante did and people are giving him MOTM (I agree he was quality as per btw). Surprised people are slating his performance, think people are looking to criticise him
Buzzell Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Seems too slow for me. It seems he needs alot of time on the ball to pick his passes out. He did get stuck in though, won some decent headers and some important challenges. Hope to see more of him.
4everfox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Drinkwater poor tonight? Are you mad? I thought he had a decent game. As for Inler he wasn't as bad as some of you think. He was just ok.
lgfualol Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I thought he was okay, defensively did a good job but slow in attack - could imagine him going out on loan and we get someone very good that fits our style in. Didn't like the hatred people had for him in the match thread though.
MooseBreath Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Thought he did ok. Clearly playing as a strict defensive midfielder and got himself in the way during some of their attacking plays which is exactly what he was there for. He was a bit slow and loose on the ball at times but before today he had only played ten minutes in about three months. We need a reserve team.
Monsell1976 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Thought this game would suit him, really want it to work out for him here, but scared the life out of me on numerous occasion. Does the simple things ok, but any pressure he looks out of place in this side, gives the ball away to cheaply and to often
whoareyaaa Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 looked class at times and then would turn into a clown maybe match sharpness and the pace of the league but he is worth keeping hold of for the second part of the season, hes no worse than Andy King and does get about.
fridoux Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 I thought he was okay, defensively did a good job but slow in attack - could imagine him going out on loan and we get someone very good that fits our style in. Didn't like the hatred people had for him in the match thread though. he was lost, can't remember anything good he,s done today

And I didn't think it was a penalty..but many did and it COULD have been given. Too slow for me.
foxes21 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Get rid in Jan? This won't be the last time we will need to keep it tight and play a defensive formation like the 4-1-4-1 we played tonight, and Inler did well enough in that defensive role tonight. He will still be of use to us this season, maybe not in a 4-4-2. But in a 3 man midfield, most definitely.
