The Railway Man Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Is anyone else genuinely confused about how shit he actually looks for us? Little bit, but this does happen quite often with 30+ players coming in for a last payday. Could be worse, we could have signed that M'Vila Sunderland have got.

Dickov22 Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 It makes me laugh when people say "Inler is too slow" before going on to wet their knickers over the prospect of Matty 'i've seen milk turn quicker' James. Inler will have his time. I think he'll be best implemented against the bigger teams away from home. Were you at Hull? He looked unbelievably slow!
chapero82 Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 No this is true. Cambiasso would have his next pass planned before he even had the ball. Inler is still deciding after he's lost itthat is so funny and true at the same time
Dan Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 Is anyone else genuinely confused about how shit he actually looks for us? Yep. I can accept it's a different style of play completely but he's struggling with the absolute basics. We've improved every single time he's gone off.

M'Vila looks class in a sea of shite for Sunderland, I'd have him over Inler all day long on what I've seen of the two of them so far.
thursday_next Posted 29 October 2015 Posted 29 October 2015 When he gets on the ball for us its as if his feet are shaped like toblerone. That's really funny.
MC Prussian Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 Pronounced honorary citizen of Naples by the mayor today: http://www.vesuviolive.it/ultime-notizie/120612-video-gokhan-inler-cittadino-onorario-di-napoli-io-e-napoli-per-sempre/
enmac Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 Listening to Clive Allen on Sunday, talking about Modric- "took 3/4 months to adjust to the PL," and I'm assuming he was playing during that time. What chance has Inler got?

What chance has Inler got? None if he hasn't done anything to dislodge a formidable pairing in central midfield
FoxonMaui Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 I seem to recall quite a few comments from Naples fans at the time we signed him saying that he had lost it in the previous year at the club. So maybe we should not be so surprised about why he has struggled here. When he plays for Switzerland he gets time to settle on the ball as the International game is way slower that a regular Prem game, so then he looks good. Drop him into a typical Prem game and due to his age he just cannot make the needed adjustments. It is a measure of how the team has developed this year with the inclusion of Fuchs and Kante and the the emergence of Drinkwater, that we have not needed to put Inler out there. Pretty sure that Claudio has seen the writing on the wall on training pitch, just like he has with kramaric. The only difference with Kramaric is that he is way younger and may yet adjust his style.

He has "struggled" here because of Drinkwater and Kanté being on fire. "Struggled" doesn't do the situation justice and is not the suitable term.

Guest Col city fan Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 Lee f***ing Cattermole, anyone? Not that again! Haven't you any other retort? Inler so far has been pretty dreadful. Accept it..and move on

People said the same of Cambiasso but he had the opportunity to adapt with a decent amount of playing time, Inler hasn't. I don't necessarily agree with this 'he can't play at PL pace', he's a quality professional footballer, given a run in the first team I've no doubt that he'll be able to play well. His problem is not having the opportunity due to the form of our current midfielders.
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 Not that again! Haven't you any other retort? Inler so far has been pretty dreadful. Accept it..and move on He's barely played. Albeit with good reason. If no one else was performing id be inclined to give him the 3 months on the pitch he probably need to adjust his game but simple fact of the matter is we don't need to with the two centre mids playing like they are. He's a good player, anyone who has watched him on enough occasions throughout his career will know that. Has looked like a fish out of water for us admittedly.
MC Prussian Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 Not that again! Haven't you any other retort? Inler so far has been pretty dreadful. Accept it..and move on I don't think he's had the chance to shine and with Drinkwater and Kanté doing so well right now, we'll have to wait some longer for him to fulfill his true potential. Of course, I'm biased. He's the captain of my national football team and I've seen him play for years now - I know what he's capable of. Also, I wouldn't base my assumptions on the quality of a player in a new team on three meagre and short-lived league appearances (totaling a whopping two hours of pitch time) and two in the League Cup. Lee f***ing Cattermole, on the other hand has had six years at Sunderland and still plays like a mechanic performing surgery on an open heart.

We are talking about Inler and great, you've admitted bias. Possibly try to be a bit more objective? As for bringing up Lee Cattermole in this thread..? As I said earlier, move on..

If you've seen my posts about Inler - be it in this thread or in the respective match thread(s) - you'd know that I've also been critical and/or quite objective of his performances, but still leaving space for improvement. Like I said, judging a player on so little pitch time is somewhat ludicrous.

Man for man, Lee Cattermole is better than anyone in the Leicester squad
Nick Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 Lot's of talk of him going out on loan, possibly to AC Milan. I suppose when you can't break through to the first team of the best team in the Premiership, you should perhaps consider going on loan to a smaller club to find your feet a bit.

I would snap AC Milan's hand off if they offered us Honda for Inler in January. Matty James coming back will cover Inler's absence and we'll get a proper attacking midfielder who is comfortable playing anywhere behind the number 9.
4ever and ever Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 He wont be going anywhere until James is fully fit as otherwise we would be left very short if Kante or Drinky got an injury. Is James even going to be fully fit by the end of Jan?
