MC Prussian Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 This is the time of the year we're likely to see more of Inler on the pitch and it'll be interesting to see how he copes with the busy schedule in late December. I wonder whether Ranieri has decided upon a permanent replacement for Drinkwater to start alongside Kanté or whether he'll pick and choose from one match to another. If selected, Inler would probably act as the safety in the back, allowing Kanté to roam more freely going forward. Personally, I can't wait to see one of Inler's long-distance screamers finally hitting the back of the net. I wish him and King well - whomever's on the pitch I'm sure will fit in nicely now.
Buzzell Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 King should start ahead of Inler but I honestly hope Inler can push into the first team and claim his spot. I really hope we get to see more of him in action because he's not really had the opportunity to start and everytime I've seen him play he looks bang average, but here's to hoping he picks up his form. I relish seeing an inform Inler doing his stuff for us.
Thracian Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 I hope no-one imagines I've got it in for Inler. I've not. What I've seen so far hasn't been good enough but if that changes I'm more than aware that our team is going to need more than just the players who've featured so far. King has been consistently underrated by many Leicester fans for all his considerable achievements during our wonderful climb from the lowest point in our history to the top of the Premiership....because he's been immense and in so many ways. But all I want to see is people getting picked on merit and doing themselves and our wonderful club justice. If Inler can join the many others who've done that this season - and last - I'll be delighted. It's going to take a higher level of performance than he's managed so far, but he wouldn't be our first slow starter and I wish him well. Benny too.
Merging Cultures Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Agent talk Euro 2016 dream may force Gokhan Inler move from Leicester | Football News | Sky Sports (via http://ble.ac/teamstream-) http://teamstre.am/1QCiJ13 Gokhan Inler will not rush into a Leicester exit but is prepared to leave in order to save his ambitions of playing at Euro 2016. The 31-year-old is interesting a number of clubs ahead of the January window after failing to break into Claudio Ranieri's table-topping team. Inler has made just two Premier League starts since a summer move from Napoli and wants to safeguard his spot in Switzerland's squad for France next year.
EGBFitness Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Definitely gone in Jan now? I think he could of came on in both today's game and the Everton game and he has been over looked. Makes you wonder if he was a CR signing and if so he is not the player he thought he was from Napoli?
AyewJoking Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 i dont know if he'll get as much money elsewhere than we're giving him. (if he is motivated by money) maybe go on loan to keep match fit for the Euro's?
FLAN Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 I thought we were desperate for another body in the middle yesterday and still he didn't get on. Must be a reason behind it
EGBFitness Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 I thought we were desperate for another body in the middle yesterday and still he didn't get on. Must be a reason behind it Same here. I put on the match thread at half time we should change our formation and add Inler in the middle. I though he could have an impact yesterday just to retain possession and close a very open middle of the park. Apparently there are reports he has been doing extra training, he seems quite the role model professional so can't see him being disruptive/ bad attitude? Makes you wonder if CR just doesn't rate him. Quite a strange one if so that we sign I player who I assume CR wanted and can't get into the first team yet a player he thought wasn't good enough is now our main man in the middle and arguably in the team
Thracian Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a game against Manchester City - either as a starter or a used substitute. Yesterday would have drained many of the City players and, with Vardy also likely to still be below par, our resources are running thin. Seems as if Inler's attitude has been spot on - and probably Benny's too while I mention it. Depending on Vardy and Drinkwater's situation, and with Schlupp being a known absentee, we might have to come up with a plan B but I can see no way of replacing the pace we've lost from anyone waiting in the wings. So it may have to be a radical rethink, at least for the time being although it really makes me wonder what the youth/under 21 set up is for if there is no-one sufficiently through the development process to help make a difference, especially given how stretched we're becoming. . .
ScouseFox Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 I thought we were desperate for another body in the middle yesterday and still he didn't get on. Must be a reason behind it reason number one; every time hes played for us hes not been very good
MC Prussian Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 reason number one; every time hes played for us hes not been very good He hasn't been shit, either.
ScouseFox Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 He hasn't been shit, either. as great a point as that is, you don't get into a side that's top of the league based on the fact you're "not shit".
MC Prussian Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 as great a point as that is, you don't get into a side that's top of the league based on the fact you're "not shit". No, it's because two other players have been better and/or more consistent.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 No, it's because two other players have been better and/or more consistent.MC in Inler spaff shocker. If he was good enough, he'd be playing. Especially if he's as good as you're making out he is. He didn't even play in front of King on Saturday which makes your post a little silly. In all honesty, I want to see him play to see what all the fuss is about. Then I'll judge.

Good players have never not been played before? The simple truth is he's struggled to make an impact early on and Kante and Drinkwater have been exceptional. King has never let Ranieri down but I am surprised that he's not come on more in games (Inler) I think he'll leave soon rather than try and develop his game to suit English football which given how we're doing without him won't be much of a loss.
Corky Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Depends on how Ranieri views Matty James' role in the squad. If he brings him in soon I can see Inler departing.
AyewJoking Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 if a player returning from a major injury gets ahead of you in the pecking order then its time to go.
sdb Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 way too early to write someone off, especially with all his experience and without having seen him play 90 mins in the league. Pretty sure we're gonna need a little strength in depth this coming month. Swiss captain can't be too shabby an option...

He has hardly had a proper opportunity to prove himself, and to have as much experience as he has he can't be completely useless.
Jordan Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 https://twitter.com/DiMarzio/status/681808554303590400I want to hear how Claudio Ranieri pronounces "giocatore," preferably while holding an espresso.
StanSP Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Di Marzio usually spot on. Inler out. James in like a new signing and if all goes well shows no signs of ever being away. Although knee injuries like that almost always change the way a player is.
Jordan Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 James must be looking good, then. If all parties insist it's best for Inler to go, then he won't be featuring tonight and we'll ship him off ASAP. I wonder if we'll do a loan now and a transfer in the summer (I can see us letting him go for a nominal fee).
