davieG Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-34066941 My old job Likelihood of automation? It's quite unlikely (3%)
The Blur Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 I can't find the feature to calculate the likehood but I think my potential future career as a social worker should be relativity safe. Now that the possibility of AI robots taking over automated jobs are very real, it will be interesting to see how the government and businesses plan to compensate for people who lose their jobs- creation of alternative jobs or am I naive for thinking this could happen? Found it- 4%
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Graphic designer - 5%. I like those odds.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Historical hitman. 97% Not liking them odds. I doubt a robot could could match my ability to come out with snazzy one liners, though.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 86% Loving the Beebs coverage of all this, as though it's a good thing that an elite technocracy will be served by robots whilst an under-class of people who would probably only ever do manual work or service industries (robot maintenance aside) lives in shanty towns. Eventually the only jobs will be programmer or robot maintenance... though the technocrats will probably find a way to get robots to maintain and rebuild themselves. Then be VERY afraid! I'm interested in Bone Dog's opinion. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD!
ScouseFox Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 seem to have completely ignored my job and industry. have that robots.
davieG Posted 16 September 2015 Author Posted 16 September 2015 seem to have completely ignored my job and industry. have that robots. That's humans for you a robot wouldn't have ignored it.
pSinatra Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Gardener 67% I'll be well dead by the time a robot can take my job. I agree with Trav that just because you can, it doesn't mean you have to. What do they want us all to do? Stay in our homes, get fat & have robots do everything for us. Bollocks to that.
Guest MattP Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Accounting Technician - 96%. Viva Corbyn.
