kingfox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Terrific performance with a lot of positives to go with it. Benalouane & Wasyl performed a class partnership, Benalouane very comfortable on the ball & reads the game very well. Really don't know how Wasilewski isn't starting in league games, his tackling in particular was very good tonight. King got better & better as the game went on, Kante when he came on was in full control of the midfield, he is a joy to watch. Ulloa worked his socks off as well. MOTM for me tonight though was Fuchs. Moses has been playing well for West Ham; however Fuchs had him in his pocket. Very solid defensive display, read the game well, got forward well & his deliveries were quality especially his assist for King. Only two negatives for me tonight & that's Inler & Kramaric. All in all though that was brilliant, some very good performances that will leave Ranieri with a selection headache.
GingerrrFox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I think Ranieri has got headaches now (of the good kind) I think he has to make changes for Saturday now. Benalouane and Fuchs deserve a crack in the first team now, they were unbelievable against a West Ham side that had a lot of firepower up top with Moses, Lanzini, Zarate, Payet and Carroll. Never really looked phased today. Kasper De Laet Huth Benalouane Fuchs Kante Drinkwater Dyer Mahrez Schlupp Vardy
Nick Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Undefeated. What's not to like? Dreamland tbh.
WardyisPukka Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 We wouldnt have been able to make 10 changes 2 seasons ago but due to the depth of quality now we can - Fuchs was man of the match - his free kick was utter class had Adrian scrambling Benalouane was solid as was Was Simpson had a decent game King played well and looked lively when he played just behind Ulloa for the extra time Albrighton was v dangerous in the 1st half. Some selection headaches for Claudio now !!
Weller in Tights Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Really enjoyed the game. Our line up looked good, it shows we actually have a bit of strength in depth now. Thought Fuchs had a great game and Ulloa worked really hard with some nice touches. Their goalie had a great game and he had to with us having 22 shots. Really looking forward to Saturday. COYB
lifted*fox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Fuchs impressed me as did Benny who surprised me how well he did. Inler was disappointing again. Fuchs was excellent but I'm not sure I agree on Inler. I thought he looked much more involved in this game. He had a few wayward shots and my mate turned to me and said 'why keep shooting from there' but I pointed out he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. We all beg players to shoot from 35 yards out and then complain when it goes wrong and we also complain when players try to walk it into the goal. He was better imo, and I've been sceptical of his performances up until tonight.
WardyisPukka Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Might have a nightmare about those Schlupp,Mahrez and Kramaric 1 on 1s. ****ing hell. Especially the Mahrez one - should of buried that to be honest Kramaric confidence looks shot

Shouldn't start Sat but I still think he'll come good!
Max Power Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Inler looked better once Kante came on and he had more bodies around him. Still he has to be behind King, Kante and Drinkwater in the pecking order right now.
Ozwin Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I'm chuffed big Was got a game and showed he still has it. Ranieri has got some tricky decisions to make this weekend!
Swarles Barkley Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Was very pessimistic, playing our second string aginst a near to full stength west ham but how they proved me wrong again Only negative being Kramaric being poor, lacking alot of confidence and inlers given the ball away constantly when he just needs to play the simple pass more often. Just cant see inler starting on saturday. But also due to the fact that drinks, kante and king have been excellent
WardyisPukka Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I don't think Fuchs will start on Saturday to be honest - he should do but i think Claudio prefers Schlupp at LB
copunk Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 West ham slowed the game down with passing about in their defence, but the they didnt look anything special at all, Fuchs was outstanding, Benny and was were solid, kante is an absolute machine, I've never seen someone so determined to win the ball and his passing was brilliant, our strength in depth is an absolute joy
Donut Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Benalouane and Fuchs did themselves absolutely no harm with very good performances tonight. West Ham might feel slightly aggrieved that the Noble penalty decision was nailed on, a shocker from the referee, but they shouldnt feel harshly treated because we had more than enough chances over the course of 120 minutes to have comfortably beaten them.
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Fuchs - Really impressed. Brilliant in everything he did. Kramaric - Not convinced. Low on confidence but seemed to counteract moments of brilliance with some utter trash. Should have buried his chance. King - Love abit of Kingy! Always pops up when we need him. Good performance Wasyl - Absolutely solid and gets on with it. Reckon he can bring some stability to our defence. Ulloa - Ran his socks off. Great touch and good in the air. Would love to see him alongside Vardy ahead of Shinji. Simpson - Lucky not to give a penalty away. Oh and he's a cock. Dodoo - Thought he played well. Clearly lacks experience though and wasn't chasing down balls he should have done. One for the future. Albrighton - Had a brilliant game I thought. Whipped in some sublime balls which weren't taken advantage of. Benny - Pleasantly surprised. Seemed to do pretty well in all fairness. Inler - Still not up to pace. Made some suspect passes and his shooting was awful Has potential but needs to buck his ideas up.
Daz93 Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 A bit lucky with the ref, Simpson was lucky to get away with it twice. Kramaric, Dodoo, Schlupp then Mahrez all should have scored. Still, happy with the 2-1 win eventually and I think it was a fair result.
Donut Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 The King header had more than a shade of similarity to the famous Matt Elliott header in the league cup semi final vs Aston Villa i thought, the way he guided the ball back from where it came with loop right into the corner. Beautiful
Hammered Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Gotta give it to ya, very impressive performance tonight. I reckon you're in for a very strong campaign this year, one of the better sides and hardest to beat. Now go and get 'em gooners for us will ya? cheers

I reckon you're in for a very strong campaign this year, one of the better sides and hardest to beat. Now go and get 'em gooners for us will ya? cheers I think youll have a good season yourselves, cheers for the words of encouragement. Youre a much better team without Carroll i think. Even if he was only half fit. He cant use pace to stretch the back 4, he doesnt run in behind and his touch wasnt great I didnt think either. Against centrebacks who can head it, I dont think theres much of a role for your typical English "number 9" now. Get rid I say. Slightly unlucky in that the referee didnt give the Noble penalty which was a clear penalty all day long, but very glad to progress in this cup.
JonnyBoy Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Don't know what was better, the result or getting a West Ham fan kicked out at half time. he made my blood boil, wore his West Ham shirt in SK3. Anyone else see this?
yorkie1999 Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I think the problem is we've forgotten how to lose.
lcfcliam Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I still don't think it was a penalty on Noble even after watching replays

Tbh i didn't recognize the side i have been watching lately, especially after seeing so much dedication from your lot that we were clearly lacking. Ain't even mad, well deserved.
Larry_LCFC Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Makes for some great reading. Seem a very level headed bunch of fans to be fair who admit they were beaten by a better side. http://www.kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=160144&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
AjcW Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 So many plus points that have already been mentioned but for me a big one that can't be underestimated was the noise again! Can you remember when we had 21,000 on a Tuesday in the championship and it was silent! Great to see so few create and atmosphere not dissimilar to a league game. I thought Benny was brilliant! I've got thoughts on Dodoo being turned into a striker at some point in the future, his first instinct is to always either cut inside or be in the box, looks nailed on to me but that might just be me, he's useful enough on the wing as it is! And yet again as I said on Saturday can we just take a second to appreciate how much Ulloa brings to the team even when he doesn't score, his link up and hold up play is such an asset. Also how much fun did kingy look like he was having at the point of the diamond?? Brilliant to see. One negative as already mentioned but I feel gets sugar coated too often just because he's young and expensive etc etc and it just feels like we're trying to save face... But Krama to me looks gone, completely, he needs a loan in January or something. When you've got a kid in Dodoo making things look easy there's nowhere for Krama to hide and we need to make decisions with him instead of holding back to save face on how much was spent on him.
