West Ham (H) Post match 2-1 AET

Thought Ulloas hold up play was top draw tonight, played very well for me.

Absolutely. He's not getting the credit he deserves on here. Joint MoM with King for me.

Not just hold-up play either, also some quick, clever, incisive passing, good vision, good movement and worked his arse off. Looked a very good striking option. Far too under-rated last season, too.

I assume he won't start at the weekend, after completing the full 120 mins, but must feature more soon unless Okazaki hits a real purple patch.

Bit like the days, evening cup match, extra time, Leicester win.

Fuchs, Benny, Was were superb, Fuchs edging MOTM for me. In fact back five played well (bit lucky with the Noble pen not given, but he did go down a bit flamboyantly). Thought Inler did ok, showed some good touches.

Albrighton and King very industrious. Kante must be a nightmare to play against. Great finish by Dodoo. Disappointing for me were Ulloa and especially Krameric who seemed on a different planet at times.

No comment re Schlupp, but Fuchs showed him how to play fullback. Moses totally snuffed out, had to switch flanks.

Also thought West Ham underestimated us and their fitness was found wanting in extra time. Leicester were clearly the fitter team, despite lack of first team opportunities for several of our players. Most if not all West Ham players played at Man City, but I believe this early in the season, this helps their match fitness, not hinders it.

It's ALWAYS King against these.

I thought we were slightly fortuitous to not concede any penalties tonight but I also thought we were worth the win, and considering we changed nearly a whole team against a side who changed three players from a win away at Man City, it's fair to be very encouraged by that.

One game at a time, but lets go all out to win this ****er. It can be done.

Great game tonight, really enjoyed it.

Feel so much better about a number of players I had doubts about.

Was and Benny looked good, Fuchs was fantastic, Inler better but not there yet.

Oh and it was definitely a penalty, God knows what the ref was looking at.

Cracking performance. A very good WHU side who are winning incredibly well away from home ATM. So much better than recent seasons when we have capitulated against lower league teams. So many, including me are hoping for a decent cup run this year, which is overdue. Well done CR and our 'Cup team'

Who do we want in the next round? Baring any upsets only Hull and Boro will be in from outside the prem and they won't be easy.

Last 16 3 ties from a big day out I feel we have to take it seriously.

I would like either a relegation threatened team or someone in te Europa League who may not take it as seriously.

Newcastle, Norwich or Liverpool at home would be the best draw for me.

Don't usually get to go to the City very often as I usually work Saturdays so I'd usually have to forfeit a day's pay and fork out a lot for a ticket. This was my first game since Hull in March. Even with 21,000 that was a great atmosphere! Everyone in the Kop should be proud of themselves for not just keeping themselves noisy but also inspiring everyone around them for singing along. I know some don't like the clappers but they do add a lot to the noise levels - great investment by the club.

Very chuffed with that performance! Says a lot about the strength of our squad when you can put out your second string side where everyone is worthy of the 1st XI. Most of the team put in a great performance and deserve to be considered for Saturday. West Ham were decent, you can see why they're up there with us having beaten Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City so far.

Schwarzer 6 - dealt well with quite a lot, couldn't do much about their goal.

Simpson 7 - looked very solid at the back, positive influence going forward.

Ben 9 - very strong, not much got past him, always seemed to come out with the ball

Was 8 - I love this guy

Fuchs 8 - had a fair bit to deal with on the flank and he dealt with it well, looked great going forward - great cross for King's goal

Albrighton 7 - had a quiet game for me

King 9 - great header, lead by example, looked absolutely knackered towards the end

Inler 6 - still adapting, had some quality moments but wasted a few chances where he shot well over from 25 yards. 120 mins very useful for him though

Dodoo 6 - good finish, but didn't have much impact after that. Great prospect for the future though.

Kram 6 - a few exciting moments, but was too selfish and wasted a lot. Would've thought he'd be desperate to get in the first XI so am disappointed that he wasn't better.

Ulloa 8 - worked very hard, was outstanding in the air - almost every time it was a great flick for Kram or someone else or well directed out of trouble. Personally been a bit cynical towards him lately but he gave everything and contributed a lot.

Mahrez 7 - magic. Mostly. No idea how he didn't score in the 1st of of ET.

Kante 8 - one of the best tacklers I've ever seen! He's fast too, held the ball up well and seems very enthusiastic with everything he does.

Schlupp 8 - I love this guy..

Team performance - 8

Very pleased overall. Thrilled to see how much the club has progressed in the past 6 months since I saw us last. Claudio has a hell of a lot of quality to choose from - personally prefer 3-5-2 so if either Benny or Fuchs could fit into a back 3 I'd be very happy.

On a side note I managed to get onto one of the official wifi's at the stadium. Not telling how :-/

The draw is tomorrow I think. It won't be played in December, that's ages away.

EDIT: The Quarter Final (if we get there) may well be in December however, that's when it was played last season. Although I should probably point out tickets will likely be hard to come by.

fuchs was class, dodoo's goal was class, kante was class, king's goal was class, albrighton was class, schlupp was hilarious, ulloa was class, kram was a bit crap, and I think I had about 10 heart attacks watching that

such a good game, leicester are unstoppable

well summed up

Wow , watched the game this morning Maui time on cricfree ( thanks for the heads up from FT poster). It's amazing how far we have come as a club in such a short time. Who would have thought we could have put out such a second eleven two years ago!!

Was just so proud to be a longtime fan today. The players were ALL clearly so committed to winning, and there was so much quality. How the hell Claudio is going to pick a team on Saturday after that showing.

Kingy's goal was epic!! NGolo is unreal and Fuchs was a revelation. Was is a force of nature and Benny looked a different player.

Ulloa played with total passion and was desperately unlucky not to score but showed why he can be so important to us this season.

We must not forget how fortunate to have our incredible Thai owners.
