Jakemoore Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I think Fuchs should start on Saturday. Push Schlupp up to LW, move Albrighton on to the right and play Mahrez in the hole behind Vardy. Fuchs was class tonight. He looked quicker than I had imagined him to be which is also promising! All round a great night of football. Our second team is decent to say the least!
Izzy Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 When's the draw for the next round? Another home tie and no reason we can't go all the way in this competition...
psychonaut Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 DD. No brainer. Love danny but needs must as the devil drives. No brainer? Drinkwater more than deserves his place.
MC Prussian Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 What a game. So many wasted chances, but with a deserved winner - and that with pretty much a second-string outfit against a full-strength West Ham. Adrian's saves in the second half almost had me thinking he'd carry it to penalties and we'd then submerge with 0 converted kicks from that spot. Standout players tonight: Albrighton, Benalouane, Ulloa, Dodoo, Simpson (in that order). King was again mostly under the radar apart from THAT goal (and a sublime long ball to Ulloa in the second half). Schlupp wasteful and so was Mahrez - those two could've sealed a win way earlier. I thought Kramaric showed glimpses of promise, Fuchs came really good in extra-time and even Inler improved as time progressed. But he needs to focus on his passing game, he squandered five to six shooting chances and that really annoyed me.
sdb Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 DD. No brainer. Love danny but needs must as the devil drives. That would be incredibly harsh. King's a great replacement for if/when DD's form drops. Kingy was poor first half and could/should've scored earlier anyway. Tonight has given CR food for thought but I don't know why we'd suddenly shuffle an unbeaten side because of one cup game.
Ric Flair Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I don't see how Okazaki can start on Saturday, his place muist be under threat from the embarrassment of riches we've got in midfield and Ulloa caused them all sorts of problems. We've been doing wlel in the league but let's not forget for the first 45 minutes of 3 of the last 4 league games we've been below par and there's room for improvement which could be found from the selection of promising players who featured tonight. Fuchs will offer far more protection and tactical football than Schlupp who is bests erved coming on when the game is stretched anyway.
BigC Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Great win, lots of chances. Fuchs was impressive, Simpson fortunate not to have given away a penalty or two. Inler needs to stop thinking he is Pirlo with all these long shots and long balls. Bring on Arsenal.
Jimbo Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 The most pleasing thing about this performance was that there was 10 changes to the starting line up from the side that started on Saturday! Competition for places can only be a good thing with the character we have in our squad. The guys in our "first" must have watched that and be thinking to themselves "f**k I need to up my game. It's great to have such a big squad when we can make those sort of changes and still put in a performance like we did, especially in extra time. There'll be a couple of guys who may have the tinker man wanting to tinker.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 We have such good strength in depth now, what a team. King in his attacking 2010/11 position reaps the awards again, would like to see him in Okazaki's role on Saturday. Fuchs defensively sound and has such a good delivery. Benny looked solid at the back, don't know who to drop him for though.
possiblygeorge Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 What's lose???? When you watch a game like that you lose your virginity, because lets be honest, that was f**king orgasmic. I don't care if that doesn't make sense, im f**king buzzing after that!
ScouseFox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 be banter if he went full pearson an played all four centre mids for a laugh
CKB Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Worried about Kramaric, he is shot of any confidence. Think a loan move could really help him and possibly us
les-tah Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 After tonight I actually really rate Benalouane.
TJB-fox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 -Schwarzer still adequate for cup games and maybe to cover KS for a small period of time -Benalouane actually is in fact a very very good central defender -Fuchs is a solid experienced defender capable of grabbing few assists -Dodoo was decent for a young lad -Kante. Wow Great win, confidence must be absolutely sky high in our dressing room. I'd be tempted to start Ulloa on Saturday ahead of Okazaki. Thoroughly enjoyed that, despite how painful we made it
sulfoxide Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 One of the most entertaining games I've seen. Missed a shed load of chances but pretty much everyone had a great game. Fuchs and Kante the pick of the bunch for me In fairness their goalkeeper was awesome.
Thracian Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Awesome - and beyond expectation. Not only winning with the reserves but having so many shots, showing so much imagination and completing the job in some style. The missed chances will be pubroom folklore for ages but really we had so many players asking questions. A toss up between Kingy and Kante for man of the match but it has to be Kingy for his winner in the end and for creating so much more to help establish our ascendancy for the duration of extra time. There were best yet performances from Benny and Fuchs, even the much maligned Schwarzer deserved some praise but the story was of how our marauding football simply overwhelmed a damned good team until the visitors had no more to offer. We've winced at Mahrez and Schlupp missing chances but how they helped us take command of the game because they both posed a real and constant threat and had to take the markers that in itself created space. With the West Ham legs tiring Leicester found the faps and finally Kings subtly heroic winner. Who complained the other that King couldn't do this or that. King showed the whole bloody range of his skills out there tonight and how his team-mates benefitted and responded. There were best performances yet this season from Benny and Fuchs. Others did their bit but the glory went to our irrepressible attackers who simply refused to let their heads drop as chances came and went but established a stranglehold on the game and triumphantly finished the job. Super win, super spirit and way beyond expectations given the two team selections. .
st albans fox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 They had pretty much their strongest team out, we had pretty much our reserve team out Impressive This x hundred!
RowlattsFox Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Kante was the perfect player to bring on in a game like this. Selection headache, I could potentially name 3 teams I'd be happy with.
possiblygeorge Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 I'll stick to Albrighton for best on for mine despite playing only 70 or so minutes.
Ric Flair Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 We have such good strength in depth now, what a team. King in his attacking 2010/11 position reaps the awards again, would like to see him in Okazaki's role on Saturday. Fuchs defensively sound and has such a good delivery. Benny looked solid at the back, don't know who to drop him for though. I thought that, he had 4 chances where he'd ghosted in like the old days when he'd score every other week. It's good to see he still has the knack as he's played far deeper for several seasons now.
possiblygeorge Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 i'm still buzzing. Today's going to be a good day.
theadmans Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Fuch's long throw ins was causing them all sorts of problems - almost worth having him in the side for this alone.
les-tah Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 And it's Schlupp through on goal..... SHANK
Dr The Singh Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 It was a good opportunity for Ranieri to see Simpson in action, we all can say that position is a weak point. Simpson is no better then RDL!!
