I'd worry about bringing someone in who can't speak the language if we're looking to push on and really go for it.

Claudio speaks Italian, English, Spanish, and French. As long as any new recruit speaks one of those languages, I have faith that they'll be integrated into the squad given the diversity of the current squad.

Why do some people seem to think Ighalo is a realistic target? there's no chance he'll be leaving Watford.

Austin doesn't fit with our team. His workrate is questionable and he's never been a number 10.

Plus he's shit atm in the championship

Correct me if I'm wrong but every time I've seen Austin play his work rate has been pretty good? If we can get him in this summer & keep mahrez. The runs he makes will get picked out 9 times out of 10 with Alrbighton & Mahrez!

That's one thing QPR didn't do, most of the time they don't feed him with the runs he makes.

Is he? Hasn't he got 10 goals in 17 games. In a poor team.

Same as he did last year, if vardy was out for any length of time you'd have a played who'd scored goals at this level.

We should definately be going in for Austin. He's a significant improvement over our other supporting strikers. The chances Ulloa didn't take against man Utd and Everton clearly show that.

Ighalo - going to be massively over priced and Watford will not want to sell him in the slightest.

Austin - playing championship football for an average side, out of contract at the end of the season so QPR will be more eager to sell than ever before.

Pretty obvious choice to be fair.

When Inler goes out on loan we could do a lot worse than Jonjo Shelvey. He would be the perfect midfield partner for Kante and 1 thing is for sure he has a got sublime passing range which marry with Vardy's runs very well.

Exactly why we should offer a stupid bid. His agent would be delighted. It sends a message that we are serious title contenders even if it was unlikely to happen. Austin, who every other club has had a look at makes me feel there is possibly a medical issue.

My point being we must make a statement that we are serious. If we piss about with a 12 million player we send a signal to other teams that we would be impressed with a 20million bid for our own core players.

Yes because a 12m player is "pissing about".

He means the same to Watford that Jamie does to us.  No chance.  He would be a £20m+ buy for a team

I don't think Austin would get a game for us.  He doesn't offer what Shinji and Leo do, someone to battle, hold/break up play and let Jamie run free.  If we had him it would mean Jamie would be on the bench.

agree with this, Watford will want stupid money for Ighalo, something like what we want for Vardy and Mahrez.

do we really want to spend something like 25-30 million on a player who has had a very good half a season in the Prem ? when we could go for Austin who is coming to the end of his contract for a lot cheaper and lets not forgot he got plenty of goals last season in the Prem .

no brainer for me .

YES!

It wasn't a year ago but it is now.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Swansea...... and so on will have spvnked up £100 million on just paying managers off. Why?

Premier League, Champions League, shirt sales, global corporate sponsorship deals. We are talking In the general area of hundreds of millions. At this level £12million is pissing about.

Sorry but that is absolutely *****

Even the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool sign players for 12M. Stop getting ahead of yourself and thinking we are "big dogs". We are doing extremtly well but we are not like the bigger teams in term of signing players for x amount of pounds and with massively high wages.

Some people on this thread have mentioned Alexis Sanchez and James Rodriguez. It's because they haven't really got their finger on the pulse. Looking at PL players is by and large a waste of time as the ones who will improves us would cost a fortune and the others are useless on fat salaries.

It's our players and the "big dogs" and their silly wages I'm worried about Charlie.

The point I'm trying to make is that absolutely stupid numbers will be paid by these clubs.

You have just stated the exact teams. Chelsea, a relegation battle with the worlds richest man. Man City, may be on the verge on winning nothing and Liverpool will but whatever Klopp wants. They will want to rape our club come the summer.

I'm saying let's bluff a stupid bid to show we aim to compete. What's the worst can happen?

If we do nothing; then envious eyes will slowly but surely draw their plans against us as we perform "extremtly well"

People still going on about Austin have absolutely no imagination whatsoever, thank god our scouting setup aren't as dense as you lot.

the awkward moment when our scouting setup wanted Austin

But we bid for him in the summer?

I think it might have been an Asian owner conspiracy.

We bid £12m which was going to be rejected and hopefully interested parties would get involved. With one year left on his contract and in the Championship they must have been desperate to get £12m+ for him.
