Bryn Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 I'm not overly fussed about Austin but I don't think we would regret signing him. Goalscorer that works his balls off. Would suit our style.
Foxhateram Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 Not bothered by Austin but when I said that in the summer I got pulled apart by many on here. It's a shame Ings went off the boil, he would have been ideal, great in the air and quick. I honestly can't think of many really good link up strikers right now. It's sort of a dying position.
MC Prussian Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 Don't want Charlie Austin, and doubt he'll leave qpr if he stands by his comments. I want someone with an exotic name as a number 10. Okay, here we go with a few suggestions: Roman Eremenko (CSKA Moscow) Radja Nainggolan (AS Roma) André André (FC Porto) Zlatko Junuzovic (SV Werder Bremen) Hans Vanaken (Club Brugge) Jens Toornstra (Feyenoord) Brecht Dejaegere (KAA Gent)
Richmondfox Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 Okay, here we go with a few suggestions: Roman Eremenko (CSKA Moscow) Radja Nainggolan (AS Roma) André André (FC Porto) Zlatko Junuzovic (SV Werder Bremen) Hans Vanaken (Club Brugge) Jens Toornstra (Feyenoord) Brecht Dejaegere (KAA Gent) Slim to no chance but either of these would be great addition to the team. Austin would be competition rather than a compliment. Austin wouldn't offer the support and style of play that we have at the moment, he'd be waiting in the box. He's not the type of player who is happy to sit on the bench which he would do as Jamie is the main man for us. I don't think he will go unless it's for the price which QPR deserve/need, otherwise they are happy to take the risk that he will help them get promoted and he gets a pay day in the summer. I'd rather Leo and Shinji do what they do as that allows Jamie to play his game and add extra steel when defending from the front. Hopefully we can get Dyer in Jan for a nice price as Swansea might need the money to improve and kick start their season. Bas Dost or Max Kruse from Wolfsburg would be great but these players have had a taste of Champions League football. When Inler gets a proper run and comes good it will feel like we have a new player.

It was all about exotic names. I think Junuzovic would fit in well, though. He also knows Fuchs from the Austrian national team.

Is that the guy with 92 free kicks on Fifa (Yes that is literary the only fact i know about him ) Is he any good other than that ? type of player is he ?

dylanlegend Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 If we are looking for another striker to replace Ulloa for example, I think we should go for Benteke. I reckon Liverpool would sell for around £18-20million as he clearly doesn't suit the style of Klopp. Think he'd be a better option than Austin and would show our intent to stay in the top 4. Maybe even a loan with option in Summer
bmt Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 Yes. And yes. Cue the mandatory highlights reel from last season: The freekick on 2.40 is outrageous!

You know your football and they were good suggestions so I thought i'd take it as a serious post rather than be wasted as a comedy thread. Junuzovic would be great alongside Kante and Drinkwater. we really need Drinkys long shots to be on target at least drawing saves for the forwards to mop up.

MC Prussian Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 how many of us have ever seen any of these play live? looks like a list of scrabble left overs.. Another one who misses the point of my list. It was created with sheer entertainment in mind!
MC Prussian Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 Jesus Navas would be a shout No chance of Manchester City letting him go, I'm afraid. We need to look elsewhere than in the Premier League. No club in England is forced to sell their players at the first occasion, let alone loan them to a potential PL title contender.
Ozwin Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 With the money coming in players are going to go for ridiculous amounts. Stick with these little hidden gems for now. Pay Stevie Walsh what he wants and let him do his thing.

MC Prussian Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 I've just read Villa want to cut their wage bill and offload Charles N'Zogbia in January already. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35129566 First I thought "Hmm, has something to it - should we go for him?". Then it sprang to my mind that he's at Aston Villa.

The newspaper claims that the Blues will attempt to woo the league's top striker to London with a £30m offer when the transfer window reopens for business next month. Chelsea had previously been credited with an interest in Vardy but Mourinho reportedly "wasn't interested because he felt the England international didn't suit his style of play". Speaking after Leicester's 2-1 win over Chelsea on Monday, manager Claudio Ranieri ruled out a sale of Vardy, claiming that he 'didn't have a price'. Read more at: https://tr.im/bRnte

gurru991 Posted 18 December 2015 Posted 18 December 2015 Austin isn't going to suit us, doesn't offer anything that we've not already got in Ulloa (bar offering marginally more of a goal threat). I think we need a very dynamic link up player, someone who is quick, hardworking and creative - Franco Vazquez? I disagree ... Austin is a cut above Ullloa. He is very aggressive in front of the goal and could carry the load if Vardy gets injured
Nick Posted 19 December 2015 Posted 19 December 2015 All over the papers today that Hiddink wants Vardy blah blah blah.... I think they should be more concerned that Hazard looks miserable and might want a change of scenery...
J.Lisemore Posted 19 December 2015 Posted 19 December 2015 He probably does want Vardy, and so does the rest of the league. John Stones being a prime example of how the smaller clubs (thanks to the TV deal) can hold their own now.
ronnup Posted 19 December 2015 Posted 19 December 2015 If they offer to make Vardy very rich indeed and play him in the Champions League he's off.
