AKCJ Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 All the bargains we have signed... Vardy, Mahrez, Knocky and you think we should just stop looking. Minimal risk and big opportunities to find another quality player. When did I say we should stop looking? All you've done is see that some lad has scored a few goals in a poor division and have come to the conclusion that we should sign him because he might be another Vardy. We should absolutely keep tabs on hidden gems. But we shouldn't be investing all our resources into it when we're in a position where we can sign some of Europe's better players ala N'Golo Kante and Christian Fuchs. These players are far likelier to come into the side and start performing straight away.
CharlieCharles Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Why on earth would we loan a 25 year old to a championship club after paying money for him. Taylor's not good enough anyway. Would probably cost 1M... send him out to a low end championship team where he will play and hopefully he will bang in the goals, if he pays off we have him for start of next season, at this current moment in time we cannot afford to give players a go. Last season we were getting beat so we could afford to change it up.

I am not saying all resources go on unearthing gems but lets face it, we have done extremely well in the past doing so and with the same scouts in place it would be crazy not to still be doing it. Arsenal want Walsh for a reason. As you said i would be signing some first team players in January without question.

If you're after a striker that is already scoring goals in the Championship then why don't we avoid wasting time and sign one of the players that already is? There are plenty of younger strikers that already know where the net is in that league. Andre Gray, Benik Afobe, Nick Blackman, Moussa Dembele...
Blue Ed Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Saw that Jermaine Lens might be available from Sunderland this January after falling out with Big Sam. Could be interesting as cover for Albrighton?

Because the price tag will be very high for unproven premiership players.. Norwich are lining up a 12M big for Afobe. Personally would prefer lower league players for 1-2M or proven players for that price.

We're in a position where we can take that risk. If Norwich can make a 12m bid then why can't we? I would be far more comfortable with Ranieri spending 10m on someone who has experience in a better league than signing someone from a shit league because he's cheap.
Guest Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Don't want premier league rejects. You just have to look at Sunderland to see where that gets you.
HoustonFox Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Imagine if we signed lavezzi I'm imagining it...and I like it! Personally I don't think there will be more than 1-2 changes. I do like the thought of Austin as he does work harder than people think and could be the foil for Vards - plus he is another threat so if Vardy is marked up, Austin is just as lethal. Pace may be an issue but he does make very intelligent runs. Someone like Matip would be awesome and has the Schalke connection with Fuchs but is that extrapolating too far? Also really Leroy Sane if we are going down the Schalke route. Just thought about Lavezzi again... Would that be dreamland? He's a "pest" too. Super skillful one but has a temper... Oooh boy!
MC Prussian Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Imagine if we signed lavezzi Imagine - he's good friends with Inler.

HoustonFox Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Imagine - he's good friends with Inler. Don't tease me Prush!
MPH Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 In my opinion if we did get Austin he would work great with mahrez and vardy in a number 10 role. Even as an all out number 9 pushing vardy out left. Would great signing if can get him for less than 10-15 million. And why on earth would you want our most natural and lethal goal scorer, who has broken records and is leading the goal scoring charts played out of position to accommodate someone else? Bizare
dannythefox Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Why sign Dyer up? He's no better than what we have and is a squad player. As good as Albrighton has been for us I would prefer us to sign a player who could oust him from the first XI, not someone who isn't as good as him. What about injurys, personally I think dyer is a great winger he's only not been playing because the others are doing a top job at the minute.
dbtcity Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 A cheeky double bid for oxlade chamberlain and chambers??? Surely the ox has to be thinking about making a move soon as he seems to be way down the pecking order when everyone is fit same goes for chambers.... Would be surprised if Arsenal would want to let them go but surely worth a punt
TJB-fox Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 We're top of the premier league and got people asking for Matty ****ing Taylor, give me strength
RobHawk Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Given the window opens in just over a week, anyone else surprised by the lack of speculation this year? We normally get linked with everyone! I guess this is what happens when you are flying and don't have to buy. Not complaining though and I'm sure we will see one or two signings
Long Eaton Fox Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 I'm sure that when Claudio says no incoming transfers, it means only if someone leaves. Inler or Kramaric. Their will be new additions!!!
NoFuchsGiven Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 After looking through this i think the Ox is a great a shout but still a number 10/striker is the main target imo
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I know he seems like a mardy bugger which is a concern, but what about making a bid for Berahino? Looking at it from the, he's got pace / we could work on his shooting angle. Think West Brom would almost welcome any bidder but Spurs.
les-tah Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 After looking through this i think the Ox is a great a shout but still a number 10/striker is the main target imoI think this of is unrealistic(because Arsenal hoard players) ... But would love it.He will never reach his potential playing 10 mins here and there every other week, which is a shame for a young English lad!
Gerard Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 No way would the Ox come to us. I'd love it though, fantastic player but we would have to find his foreign equivalent.
4everfox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I think we will see two or three players joining in January with two leaving. Arkadiusz Milik, Nigel de Jong and Andre Carillo in. Andrej Kramaric and Gokhan Inler out.
