Walkerfox Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 My Pizzas ordered! Thought i'd get in on the action too haha
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 A tough matchup from the start which started out nicely, with lots of action on both sides - but the poor shot conversion rate and bad passing meant it ended in a goalless draw at half-time. But even in the second half, it was an even competition. I think we had Lady Lucky somewhat on our side, with the referee mostly whistling in our favour. But that's also down to our players knowing how and where to put a foot or the body in, taking the flow out of Palace's game. Cabaye was pretty much nullified throughout the match and there were few endeavors into our box, Schmeichel had his first save noted down in the 37th minute! Albrighton seemed a bit lacklustre or without his usual golden touch - too many long balls and passes gone astray. However, he could've made it 1-0 early into the game if it hadn't been for the post. All in all, I can't really complain. We held on, fought back - even under massive pressure in the closing stages - and finally kept a clean sheet. League Cup next - hopefully, with Inler in the squad!
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 This squad is far superior to last season. We have better players and a years more experience. We also have a better manager now I think. Last season we'd have drawn or lost that game.

Agree with this, we have improved in every area, drinkwater has stepped up and been fantastic and of course Vardy is as good as any striker in Europe at the moment
st albans fox Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 of course Vardy is as good as any striker in Europe at the moment The way we play, perhaps he is but as a general statement, that's soo wrong
EGBFitness Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Not a classic game and not one I thought it was going to be like pre match. Dull first half with a lot of sparring. Second half we was the better side and defended very well second half although looked very nervous. Great goal by Vardy and ball from Mahrez capitalising on poor palace defending. Vardys composure was fantastic! Can't understand criticism of Simpson today, played against a very good winger and kept him quite! He has been little rough with him and upset him. All round good performance from everyone, not sure Drinky my man of the match, I would of either choose Kante or Fuchs. Massive win today but still important not to get carried away. Pizza all round tonight. Up the city!!!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 The way we play, perhaps he is but as a general statement, that's soo wrong In what way? at the moment he is, all the stats back it up as well as his general play
foxfanazer Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 These mistakes by opposition players aren't just by chance either. We never allow teams to switch off all game so they're under pressure all of the time. The way we punished it today was beautiful

Frank to be Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Got the goal and defended well enough even if it was a bit hit and hope at times. Don Claudio with more very intelligent strategy in what was a tricky fixture. It was another superb result so I'm nit picking but I didn't think Mahrez in the hole worked at all well and Schlupp wasn't great again. Okazaki showed for me why he should be in the starting line up with a very combative display that helped to hold off their attacking momentum. Drop Schlupp, play Mahrez on the wing and Okazaki up front and that will for me be our strongest team.
fuchsntf Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 A piece of history... Oops sorry Pizza history!!!

Number 6 Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Don't think it was Schlupp's best game but really think we should persist with that left side. Fuchs looks superb and Jeff drops back nicely to left back when his mate is further forward. Think there's a lot of potential down that side.

Would help if he actually played in the hole.
