Did we apart from the goal? it was a pretty dull game where we thankfully got the chance and took it

Mahrez missed a sitter snd Vardy should've scored another. Wasn't the best game but one we could've lost in the past

Decent tifo display today as well.

Haven't heard the Pardew interview but I knew he'd be an ungracious loser.

As others have said, Ranieri's got class and it comes through time and again.

I really don't like Pardew. We shouldn't forget the 'head butting' of the Newcastle player a couple of seasons back, plus calling Pelligini an old c**t for whatever reason on the touch line.

All of which is shameful behaviour for someone in his position.

He is as you say and an ungracious loser, typified by his singing the praises of CR in the build up to the game, and reversing that opinion when he's lost it.

Up yours Al

Nothing spectacular but still got three points and a win against a team similar to ourselves who are about as dangerous. It's very satisfying. Ranieri is doing a very, very good job this season and I think the players are totally behind him now.

Very positive about things going forward.

Another thing that is impressive is the we've handled the different playing styles of teams (except for Arsenal). We impose ourselves onto teams rather than just trying to nullify their threat

Palace shocking today. They could have had a peno but they wouldn't have deserved it, they didn't even deserve a throw in with that performance.

For me it was a 'measured' performance. It wasn't the dullest match I've seen, but we cannot keep up the pace and vigour we've been travelling at forever. Palace struggled without Gayle and Wickham, so threats were few and far between from them.

Kante was immense again. Tackle after tackle. Albrighton didn't have the greatest game, and Mahrez doesn't seem himself, but if he was told to cool it, then hopefully he won't burn out.

Some of the calls today could have easily gone against us and I wondered whether we might end up facing a draw. Before the last two games I figured this was going to be the one with goals in it.

Albrighton hit the post and then the follow up. Thought we'd scored then!

So happy. It is unreal being a Leicester fan at the moment.

It's hard to describe how much better we are this season that most of last season. We're putting so much pressure on opposition teams and then punishing them when they mess up - we were always the victims of that! I think {October-March) last season Vardy wouldn't have scored that, we would probably wouldn't have even had that chance to take. We've got gems in Fuchs and Kante for a grand total of £5.6m. The starting team today actually cost very little. Around £12m?

If our current lot played the Leicester team that we saw for 3/4 of last season, we'd win so easily it'd be unfair.

Good times all round.

Fuchs is top class. Better, and best left back I've seen since David Nish. So pleased we got him, and top marks for our backroom team for getting him. Today, with his crosses and deliveries, he wasn't quite as good as the Southampton game, but defensively he just didn't allow any crosses to come in and he closes down the opposition players so well. Simpson played well today too, and these two are starting to give Morgan & Huth more confidence to concentrate on their own games. And with Kante (my MOTM) in front of them, chasing every ball, defensively the side is really taking more shape.

There was only one Man of the Match today - manager Claudio Ranieri.

No, it wasn't perfect but the manager fashioned a win because he knew what was required to negate a talented team.

1) He stopped us giving away free kicks. It was only when Shinji came on and played on his arse and then the inevitable  problem of tiredness crept in, that Palace got a few free kicks and corners which enabled them to mount some pressure. Before that there was hardly any.

2) We also double banked down their left flank in particular but their attacking dangermen in general showing the unquestioned wisdom of playing Albrighton and Shlupp to assist in helping Simpson and Fuchs respectively thus adding to the foundations for a solid defence.

Tactically and for sheer effort I couldn't fault anyone but let no-one believe this was the best we could play because it wasn't. Fear played its part and to some extent helped the teams all but cancel one another out.

But the service to Vardy - apart from Mahrez's master pass - was appalling with so-called MoM Drinkwater as much to blame as anyone.

And quite why we continued trying to play floated crosses into the area when low skimmers offered the only realistic chance of reward I don't know.

I wouldn't even count Danny as the MoM runner-up because our full-backs Fuchs and Simpson were both instrumental in stiffling so much potential danger from Palace and reducing their clear-cut chances to virtually zero. And Kante had to rate 7.5 or 8 too.

Then there was Vardy. Somehow you knew he'd score because if you give him a challenge he faces it, overcomes it and comes away successful.

And that's what he did today. Mahrez fashioned our winning goal because he did the particular thing I've been praying he'd do - he delivered a one-touch pass when any delay would have been fatal. It really was a clever pass.

Vardy was on his toes to read the ball, one of only two decent chances he got all day, and how cleverly and ruthlessly he made Palace pay for their defensive calamity. Two chances, one goal! That's the mark of a master-striker.

Now to Drinkwater. I watched him closely and he got six marks straight away simply for the massive extent of his involvement both in defence and attack. One of his tackles may have been vital and come what may he refused either to hide or shirk anything.

My disappointment was in too many over ambitious passes which were easily intercepted when simpler no-risk passes were possible and might have left the opportunity for a more imaginative final pass instead of losing the ball far too easily at the edge of the front third and inviting pressure.

Don't worry people. I still rated the bloke a 7.5 overall but I'd have given eight to our full-backs and the same to Vardy because we wouldn't have had the three points if anyone but he'd been on the end of Mahrez' pass.

Kasper made a couple of decent saves, Huth had perhaps his best game this season which showed in the fact that he was so rarely troubled, Morgan huffed, puffed and came out top against whoever and Kante was Kante....if they could fashion him into a car battery it would re-define the phrase "long-life".

Schlupp did a slightly different job conscientiously while remaining a threat. He might have had a goal from a half chance and should have backed up Vardy when he stole the ball from their centre-back and presented a tap-in at the far post if anyone else had shown the same commitment for getting forward.

Mahrez should perhaps have scored from the Albrighton rebound or could have fed Schlupp with a sitter, but his assist for Vardy proved vital and that's what he's about - making things happen and it doesn't have to be many things in a 1-0 win.

Albrighton offered decent defensive support but almost entirely disappointed as an attacking threat by insisting on playing high balls when they should have been forgotten for the entire 90 minutes given the height of the Palace defenders.

Our substitutions did little.

Shinji made his presence felt but was a free-kick waiting to happen and Dyer didn't seem quite with it. In the last 10 minutes we forgot about passing our way to safety and just fell back to soak up whatever was thrown at us.

It did allow Palace to pour big men forward but we denied them room to jump or space to move into and this was the key to our survival.

As for the penalty shouts none looked convincing and any would have been either harsh or at least partially contrived. We won with an honest goal and damned well deserved it.

But Ranieri was the mastermind.

Top post, better I believe than many paper reports can conjour up this weekend.

I didnt have a good stream, but Kante was my MOM.

The fullbacks performances are indeed strengthening our backline.

Ranieri is starting to show us provence locals what class trainers/managers can do.

Hes tweeking his selections, and is getting it spot on so far.

Another thing, thats noticable this season, is when a couple of players go missing in part or the whole game the team is carrying it.

I am looking forward to seeing the game again without stream-breaks.

The BBC write up calling it a poor game, thought it was a cracking first half to be fair. Not a lot of outright chances but we played some terrific football. Can only assume it was written by a palace fan.

The first half wasn't great, apart from a 10 minute spell. The second half was much more entertaining, edge of your seat stuff.

Probably because they parked the bus for the first 45 but I thought we were pretty good tbh.
