Charl91 Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 Was just watching a couple of FK videos, when I suddenly thought; when was the last time we scored one? (I mean, directly from the FK, not from a header, etc.) I want to say the last one we scored was Knockaert at some point, though I may have just made that up.

Guest ttfn Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 We haven't even conceded many. In the PL I can only remember 2 goals being scored direct from free kicks in our matches - Eriksen and Wallace both at the King Power.
StanSP Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 Think that's because we don't concede that many free-kicks around the box or in decent shooting areas
marko Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 Think it was Knockaert against Sheffield Wednesday to seal promotion.
DB11 Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 I remember Knocky at home against Sheffield Wednesday
BenTheFox Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 Last one was Knockaert vs Wednesday. I think I'm right in saying that we were the only club in the premier league that didn't score a direct free-kick last season.
TheMightySystem Posted 8 November 2015 Posted 8 November 2015 We went close quite a few times last season, Cambiasso against Joe Hart stands out as one. I think its because we don't tend to get many fouls in front of the box because most of our play goes down the wings or we get fouled in the box. Hopefully with Fuchs now when we get an opportunity we might get one or two this season.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 I fancy Fuchs to ping a couple in this season. He's done it many times at previous clubs, and came pretty close against West Ham in the cup. It might have gone in if Adrian wasn't doing his best brick wall impression - he was outstanding that night.
Ric Flair Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 On Saturday there was probably 2 or 3 that most teams would of had a pop at but we chose to clip the ball in to the box instead. I'm waiting for Fuchs to unleash one, he came with a reputation of doing so on occasions.
Foxy harry Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 mahrez hit the post against spurs and kramaric hit sidenetting against man c
Thracian Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 We're hopeless at free kicks and have been for most of the last decade. I'm sure there is planning, but don't see much evidence of it or any of the fine timing needed to make plans work. When people talk about where we'll finish or how far we could go I reckon dead ball situations is 10 goals a season we're not collecting. A really good coach might plunder a goal every two games. But we do need someone to deliver the ball with pace, accuracy and pre-rehearsed imagination.
fuchsntf Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Any fk around the penalty area, I wouldnt mind seeing Fuchs, and maybe even DD, start to be given or themselves take responsibility, and have the confidence to build up another weapon, to help the scoring possibilities. They should be given the freedom, to take the fks and try different technic to shoot on sight. Adding Albrighton for subtle chips for Mahrez or Vardy to run onto.

Aylestone Fox Posted 10 November 2015 Posted 10 November 2015 Fuchs has a sweet left peg and should be given the chance to have a pop sooner rather than later
fuchsntf Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 you reckon danny "the goal's 20 feet tall, right?" drinkwater should take our free kicks? Its time he started to learn then innit..!!! Now its time for players, to expand, evolve and become PL quality. No hiding place...
yag101 Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 So far this season, we're second in the rankings for set piece goals. Top for penalties. I'd rather we keep pressuring the opposition box and winning more penalties than free kicks.
Wymsey Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 I want Albrighton to be given a chance. Best crosser since Gallagher imo.
Renart Posted 11 November 2015 Posted 11 November 2015 I remember Knocky at home against Sheffield Wednesday Last one was Knockaert vs Wednesday. I think I'm right in saying that we were the only club in the premier league that didn't score a direct free-kick last season. Do you mean this one? If I remember rightly there was a whole thread somewhere that had multiple videos of this goal from loads of different angles and positions around the ground.
Strokes Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 I want Albrighton to be given a chance. Best crosser since Gallagher imo. Whats crossing got to do with direct freekicks?
DB11 Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 Whats crossing got to do with direct freekicks? Similar attributes - accuracy of placing the ball in a desired position and ability to curve/swerve the ball with pace - I'd imagine.
