Chelsea at home.. Thoughts!

I can see us losing this.

Whilst they're having an awful season so far, they still have the quality to be dangerous and Jose often does well against managers he has argy with.

Its the kind of game that's a real shitter for us. If we lose, the press will have a field day with shitloads of 'they cant do it against the big teams' but win it and it'll be about how Chelsea are having problems.

To be honest, i'd be more than happy with a draw.

Great post

But I hope we still manage to beat them

Really hope we win this one. There's an army of pundits and commentators itching to write our season's obituary if we falter this month. It's understandable but would be very very satisfying indeed to prove the sceptics wrong.

My only worry is that we try to out-think them and end up giving them too much respect. We're at home and we should play to our own strengths, confident that we are playing well enough to beat them on our terms, not theirs.

Would like to see the same XI that started against Swansea. Ulloa has his obvious weaknesses but I think we will need his strength and aerial presence.

Its actually surreal that I would be extremely disappointed if we didn't beat Chelsea.

I was disappointed with the point against Man U, we must play our game and forget it is Chelsea, this is a Chelsea side devoid of confidence... we shouldn't show them too much respect. I think the first goal is going to be very important in this game, if we get it Chelsea aren't going to come back

So in theory Newcastle, Bournemouth, Norwich and Swansea could all get a win over the weekend which will put Chelsea in the relegation zone. What a motivator that would be to keep them there

Us winning this is about as much a foregone conclusion as Man united losing at Wolfsburg tonight.

We are awesome, all the stats have our players/team right up the top. Can't see Chelsea scoring more than 1, in which case its going to be 2 or 3-1 to us.

They also play Porto tomorrow night. Our players will have recovered from their hangovers and can just train and chill.

Chelsea will play in a similar way to Man U and be ultra defensive. We need an early lead to stop them from just sitting back and hoping for a set piece goal. They are low in confidence coming up against the best team in the league, so they will not be looking forward to paying us. It's unlikely, but if the other results go against them, they could be as low as 17th before the start of this game, adding to the pressure.
