  • Leicester's most losses ever in a 38 game season
  • 21 games in a row without a clean sheet
  • Conceded opening goal in 19 of those game
  • Only side across Europe's top 5 leagues without a clean sheet since World Cup
  • 12 consecutive home games conceding the opening goal (longest ever run by any side in PL history)

Always breaking records. Good old City.

We've broken a lot of records this season

  • Leicester have conceded 41 away league goals in the 2022-23 campaign, their most in a season since letting 44 away goals in during the 2010-11 Championship campaign. In a 38-game campaign, it’s the most they’ve shipped since 1914-15 (47).

Surely there's a west African player named Constance Sistay we can sign.

They were trying to sign someone like him, but his pen leaked and they got ink on Sistensay...

Eddie Howe's never lost a home game against Leicester apparently.

Time for that to change...

Beat them - Bournemouth - in the promotion season 13/14 1-0,  Kevin Phillips goal!

That was our 12th relegation from the English top-flight. Now joint most with Birmingham City.

Can't spell yoyo without Leicester.

I doubt any side has been relegated from the top division having played in two community shield fixtures within the previous seven seasons ??

Blackburn?

Lost the 94 and 95 games, before relegation in 99.

We can see a lot of similarities with them, albeit our drop off has been more rapid.

Will Everton get penalised for their spending?

probably a fine or a points deduction in a couple of seasons when the investigation is completed, it's not happening for this season just gone.

They must have played one of those as runners up in the league then.

I was basing our two appearances on the basis of winning fa cups/leagues

I assumed that at some point a winner has been relegated the season following a shield win?  Maybe that’s the stat ??

Sorry, I meant more they were swimming in the lower half of the league. We’ve been too half, albeit a little bit poor last season.

Wigan won the FA cup but we’re in the Championship when playing it.

It’s hardly been shared around, as it’s dominated by the current big 5 clubs for the past 40 years. In that time, only us and Leeds have been relegated from the teams that have won it.

2021 - Us - Relegated 2023 (2 years)

1995 - Everton

1992 - Leeds - Relegated 2004 (12 years)

1987 - Everton

1986 - Everton

1985 - Everton

1984 - Everton

Ignore me - you are talking community shield and I'm thinking FA Cup

Reviewing City's 9 seasons in the PL, this is their overall record:-

Played 342

Won 134

Drew 77

Lost 131

Goals F 517

Goals A 480

Points 479

Average position 10th (10.111111)

Pts/game 1.4005848

Points/season 53 (53.222222)

Win %age 39.18129

Draw %age 22.51462

Loss %age 38.30409

Goals F/game 1.5116959

Goals A/game 1.4035088

Goals F/Season 57.444444

Goals A/Season 53.333333

Average GD/Season +4.1111111.

If there had been 3 more goals in yesterday's game, exactly 1000 goals would have been scored (either F or A) over the last 9 seasons.

If West Ham hadn't scored yesterday, City would have conceded exactly one goal per point gained over the last 9 seasons.

(The recurring decimals appearing in several of the figures is because of 9 being the divisor.)
