filbertstreet Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 SSN saying Sampdoria have put a bid in for Benny http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11712/10107761/sampdoria-eye-move-for-leicester-citys-yohan-benalouane
Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Looks tidy when he's played. He isn't going to in front of Wes and Huth but maybe being behind Wasyl at the weekend will put doubts in his mind to whether he wants to be here?
Gerard Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 It would be great to get some money back for Benalouane & Inler. They've failed to make an impact here and after Huth & Drinkwater weren't available for Everton it was Wasilewski & King who proved to be above them in the pecking order. We spent £10m on two players at the latter end of their career and still prefer to play our freebies who've been here for years. No harm in admitting we got it wrong and replacing them with better options.
fleckneymike Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Benalouane would be a very interesting sale. The only player recruited not by Walsh and his team but on Claudio's recommendation.

Lose Benny, and the only CB cover is Wasyl, which bless him, but he's not getting any younger and would be a weak link in an extended run in a back two.

Do you know this for a fact or is it your opinion? I was always under the impression Benalouane & Inler were Ranieri signings. Maybe Walsh should just tell Ranieri, you do your job and I'll do mine from here on in.
VLC86 Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 If this happens I expect a tweet with him holding a severed foxes head saying ' Sad to leave, Love Lester'

Maybe Walsh should just tell Ranieri, you do your job and I'll do mine from here on in. A fact. I'll try and dig out the newspaper report in which we admit as much (think I posted it a while back in the main forum). Edited to say the Merc make reference to it here but this isn't the original article. Was in a national broadsheet from what I can recall http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Survival-target-ndash-Rob-Tanner-answers/story-27962688-detail/story.html Edited to say here it is (though sadly from the Daily Mail) "Ranieri’s opinions are now fed into the system and the signing of Atalanta defender Yohan Benalouane is his primarily. Gokhan Inler was on the radar for some time, while N’golo Kante is very much a product of scouting." The jury is still out on Andrej Kramaric following his £9m move, for example, but the sense is his quality will tell. Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Don't sell we need the backup and he is happy to play when needed. That and his hilarious Twitter account
NoFuchsGiven Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Looked decent whenever he has played for me if sold we must get a decent replacement in
Stevosevic Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 We need players happy to be 4th choice who won't upset the camp, he seems to be one of these.
ScouseFox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 we need hilarious foreign players on twitter who have basically never heard of us, joined and now never play for us but seem to support us more than most of our fans, he seems to be one of those too
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Thought he was excellent when he played against West Ham in the cup, the 2-1 win. I haven't seen too much of him play but I think he's a decent defender overall.
LCFC FOX Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Can't see him leaving, he's loving it here and he doesn't want to miss out on what's going on
AKCJ Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Just had a flick through his twitter feed and every post is absolute gold. He's retweeted a vine of Vardy's tackle on Costa (with the stare down that followed) and it has the caption "RT if you would pay to see this fight". When Mahrez scored a hatrick against Swansea he put "Congratulation has my buddy @Mahrez22 for triple sound today" hahahahahahaha https://twitter.com/YohanBenalouane/status/670729156821426176 https://twitter.com/YohanBenalouane/status/663065510876196864 Just love the lad to bits tbh
Bayfox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Although we haven't seen a lot of him, I'd want us to hang on to him certainly until the summer. Huth is bound to suffer from more suspensions during the season and wes will do well not to suffer the same fate. And much tho I love wasyl. He isn't getting any younger. A year to adjust and we may see the best of benny next season. Fuchs couldn't get a game to start with but look at him now. We need strength in depth. I understand inler and krammy wanting loans with the euros coming up, but this move has to be a non starter without us then having someone else to come in.
Tommy G Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 Rip his contract up and put him in charge of our twitter handle.

How come you still label both Inler and Benalouane a failure when there's nothing to base it on? You dwell in it, don't you? You always blow the same trumpet. It's getting a bit tedious now. Don't judge a player if you've hardly seen him on the pitch. Remember that there were reservations about Vardy and Drinkwater at the start of their LCFC career, as well. It's all about how much time you give the players, the manager and the team to gel.

I'd love to be proved wrong but signing players for decent money who are around the 30 years old mark that can't get in the team is generally a bad investment. Inler and Benalouane cost about £10m, about 30 years old and are behind Wasilewski and King in the pecking order. It doesn't look good business so far.
Dan Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 I don't think he's a particularly bad option at 4th choice to be honest. Probably paid a bit much for him but what's happened has happened. No point letting him go for peanuts as that's just throwing money away.
ScouseFox Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 if we got rid of him we would need to buy someone else who is half good yet happy enough to be fourth choice. not gonna be easy to find. bare in mind we had matthew upson doing that role last year.
