I'm not saying who is best I'm saying if he wants to go there is no point upsetting the team and as he is 3/4 choice bring back Moore from loan and and use him. But try and get some one (ASAP) in before the new season that latest that can push Huth and Wez for a starting birth as this could only help them improve by not going stale and thinking name is on team sheet no mater what.

If he is happy keep him then. I just think that if he has wants to move to get more game time. U should not stand in his way as it can so easy back fire on us.

If Mr Ranieri is serious about trying to win this division, we would be stupid to sell either Benny or Inler. Both have class and experience and will surely have a part to play.

Who cares what they cost or what they are being paid, let the owners worry about that. The fact is we need quality squad players and these guys fill the bill.

Must stay.

Surely that depends if he has replacements lined up. He's not stupid

What's the point lining up a replacement for a player to sit on the bench when we have players that can do the job already sitting on the bench, a waste of resources and money unless it's someone who we can mould to be Huth/Wes' replacement.  All we are going to do is replace a player with someone who is at the same level or below.

I'm not sure what condition Moore is at physically and mentally but hopefully CR can pass on some of his defensive knowledge and bring him back into the fold, maybe Was can teach his trick where the forward runs into his elbow by accident.

Leicester City Defender Not Keen On Sampdoria Move

Benalouane-Leicester-300x169.jpgSampdoria are interested in signing Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane, however the move has been put on hold due to the player’s reluctance to leave the Premier League.

The Foxes have enjoyed a fantastic start to the English domestic season so far under Italian coach Claudio Ranieri and currently find themselves top of the Premier League, two points ahead of leaders Arsenal.

As a result, according to Tuttomercatoweb, the former Atalanta defender is eager to stay at the club, despite only making four substitute appearances in the league this season.

It’s believed that Samp coach Vincenzo Montella is still keen to add to his defensive options, but may need to further convince the 28-year-old to get the deal over the line.

Last season at Atalanta, Benalouane helped La Dea avoid relegation from Serie A, making 27 league appearances and scoring one goal.

We should really hang on to him.

He seems to know what he's doing, whenever he comes on, and he's got a positive attitude currently which doesn't suggest that he wants out.

We're now a big player and a bloody rich one at that in the premiership, we needed to expand our squad. We've spent 10 million on two very decent backups who are seemingly happy- only being kept out of the team due to our unbelievable form. Wouldn't say that's bad business personally, given the fact they've barely been given a chance, and the chance Benalouane has been given he's played fairly well.

Just looking at value for money.

Huth £3m = First choice

Benalouane £5.7m = Fourth choice and behind free transfer Wasilewski

We definitely need 4 CB's at the club but we well overpaid for him. Getting anything like our money back would be good business especially if we could reinvest it on a player that could oust Huth or Morgan as first choice. What's done is done though and I'd be happy enough to keep him as 4th choice than take a big loss on him. If we can use him in leverage to get that young RB from Sampdoria then that's good business as well.

Huth was a bargain, we're not likely to get that sort of deal time and time again sadly

i doubt there's any truth to this one, benny seems pretty happy here and i'd be very surprised if he wasnt part of ranieri's plans.

Can see him stepping into huth's place eventually if huth continues turning in average performances

Benalouane doesn't fit the profile for us. We tend to scout experienced defenders (i.e. age or experience of this league).

Waz (age experience)

Huth (league and age experience)

Simpson (league experience)

Upson (age and league experience)

Fuchs was a slight exception but he fit the profile thanks to his international pedigree.

Benalouane has non of the qualities our scouting team look for in a CB or defender, and as such I imagine is now surplus to requirements. Ranieri may well place his trust in the recruitment team to find him an alternative CB, I'd expect either a reserve CB from a top 8 side to come in or a age 30+ squad player from the continent.

Why would he be surplus to requirements. They scouted him knowing all of these things so I don't get why all of a sudden he wouldn't fit their criteria

because it's widely believed it was a ranieri pick.

If it was a Ranieri pick then I hope the lesson here is that CR picks the team but SW picks the players. An expensive lesson but hey ho and I suppose largely to our purchase of Kante our summer signings are worth more now than what we paid for them.

I was never keen on Benalouane from the start after doing a bit of research on him.

He was indeed an Ranieri pick. Claudio needed convincing to buy Kante, Walsh pressed him on a near daily basis to buy Kante, Ranieri pressed the club to buy Benny (recall the slight suprise of the French journalist when we bought him, he could barely think of a positive to say about him - described him as rash, positionally weak and without decent distribution). I suspect Ranieri now thinks that if Walsh can find a player of Kante's quality for the same price he paid for Benny then imagine what he could have gotten?

You're a miserable bastard. Merry Christmas

Benaloune was always a slightly odd signing and whilst I wouldn't want to right him off, the goal posts have changed in terms of our ambitions and attraction as a club. So we may go try to sign another CB in Jan, if not definitely the summer and I don't know where he would fit in then.

Probably best to stick with him for now though and let him get his chance. Only time will tell.

There's going to be a cup match against Spurs shortly and it's easy to forsee a few changes in order to give some players a rest after a busy period. Inler and Benny to start hopefully and if fit enough, given a full 90 minutes. It would also be nice to see Okazaki in the Vardy role with Krameric in behind. If he has the right attitude he needs to bust his gut to try and show Ranieri he's worth his price tag. It's up to him to adapt to our style, take his chances (ie no powder puff efforts trying to impress straight at the goalkeeper ). He was also easy to knock off the ball and by now, with a shining example like Vardy, should have done some gym work to ensure that doesn't happen. He's been here long enough now to guage what's required from him in the Premiership.

Keep him. Whenever I've seen him he's look good and he's been unlucky that Morgan has played so well this season. Wazza was clearly bought in to combat the physical threat of Lukaku
