Spudulike Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Has to play him Sunday and give the lad dorm hope to think he is part of the future Problem is would Claudio want a left side of two teenagers in Chilwell and Gray ?? Might be a step too far.
Wymsey Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Hope he plays and does well. Will motivated the other left-siders that their place in the team isn't for granted.
chicagofox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I think Christisn Fuchs can justifiably take his place in the team for granted.
jaqo88 Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Problem is would Claudio want a left side of two teenagers in Chilwell and Gray ?? Might be a step too far. They've played with each other before for England U/20s so they should have a good enough connection, and they are supposedly the next big things, so why not?
Ric Flair Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Problem is would Claudio want a left side of two teenagers in Chilwell and Gray ?? Might be a step too far. He may well start Gray on the right
LCFC FOX Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Have we offered him the 'One of our Own' chant yet? I'm sure he'll get it
NewquayFox Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Great prospect and I can't see the point of us being linked with the likes of Sam Byram if we would let this lad get sold, Fuchs is brilliant at the moment but once this lad gets in he will be a permanent fixture at left back.... Up the City...

Up the City... Byram plays on the right though.
NewquayFox Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 I know Byram is a right back sphericalfox just saying we are looking at buying young English talent then rumours are we could be selling young English talent, just doesn't make sense.... Up the City....
Jaspa Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 Its all looking good with him, a fantastic performance and with that we seem to be introducing him into the squad. Just turned 19, come through our youth team and capable and confident of putting that in against a Premier League team Its all down to attitude now and whether we keep him as back up or loan him out and how he takes to that and further develops. If he were to leave permanently I would be surprised, he doesnt look unhappy and we've shown we can keep hold of players we want, add to that Demarai who weve just acquired and I've still got reasons to smile tonight
Nick Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 He's a good upcoming talent, no doubt. We should definitely keep him but I fear from the odd comment he has made, especially relating to his loan team playing 'possession football' which 'suits his style of play,' he's angling for a move to a club that arguably doesn't play counter attacking football....
Clever Fox Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 He put in an assured performance today against quality opposition. He definitely has a big future in the game.Hopefully with us. If he's being advised properly he'll be advised to stay and learn from Fuchs who's a quality full back. He has plenty of time to step up without putting the pressure of a Fee and expectation on his young shoulders.

He might find we'll evolve. At the moment we don't have enough passers or the right focus to play passing football but instead have played to our strengths of breaking at pace and sometimes more directly than in the past. Lately, and particularly when lacking a second fast-breaker to compliment Vardy, that's looked an increasingly limited tactic, so what if we develop a team that's comfortable doing both?
FoxinNotts Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 Played great today. At the risk of repeating myself.... Left back is not a position we need to care about. 2 quality players in this position (and Schlupp can play here and is a good wing back).
Devonfox1884 Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 If we make Europe he'll be needed for sure.

NoFuchsGiven Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 £800 a week doesn't surprise me but defo need to up that immediately.

st albans fox Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 He will probably get 10x that amount in a new contract! And if that's what we offer him, that's why he will move on. IF We want to be a 'big team', we have to act like 'big teams' do. We are faced with a decision re our future. Is this the 'difference of perspective' highlighted between the board and NP? We haven't made the rules but we can't 'put the genie back in the bottle'.

But then if you explain to him if he carries on improving his wages will keep on going up. You can't offer a young lad to much money at once as the money goes to there head & they get carried away! You up it bit by bit as they keep improving!

Sounds good, lets do what we did when we went bust and get the chairman to ring him and ask him how much he wants a week. Look at Deli Alli, I would imagine the contract he originally signed at spurs wasn't much more than £10k, he has performed consistently well in the first team for 6 months and then signed another contract. The reserves/championship are littered with players that have been more hyped up than BC as a result of clubs paying youngsters well above their expectations. I would imagine this sort of figure would be more than acceptable to him.
Thracian Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 I don't think Leicester has a reputation for being a mean club, wages wise. And we always seem more than willing to offer improved terms as people prove they're worth it.
