Arriba Los Zorros Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Schlupp's gotta be taking Albrighton's place, he's just a millon times more dynamic
ScouseFox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I like his new kick it through the legs an run after it routine. Worked three times already since he's come back. Much better than his kick it out of play and run after it plan of old.
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Schlupp cannot be defended by one man. Same with Vardy, Mahrez and Kante. Putting all 4 of them in at the same time puts a lot of pressure on the defense. Schlupp scares defenders and opposing fans because of his attacking mentality and pace. Throw in Okazaki and it's too much for most teams to handle. But you do need albrighton and Fuchs pinpoint crosses and passes in the mix.
HighPeakFox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 It's wonderful having about 15 favourite players in the squad

Throw in Okazaki and it's too much for most teams to handle. But you do need albrighton and Fuchs pinpoint crosses and passes in the mix. its more that Albrighton will always want to cut back to cross, which gives the defender a chance to stop the cross, running at pace and whipping it in makes it so much harder, Albrighton did the same against Norwich, because he was on his natural side
jessejk Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 As Jamie Rednapp put it, Schlupp adds the 'Chaos' factor Very accurate in describing him as you never know what you are going to get.... but he was great on Saturday.
Mythyaar Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Attacking intent accepted (whether intentional or not - the threat is there) you can't knock Schlupp's defensive qualities either. He gets way too much stick on here from some.
Bryn Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 No-one else think throwing on two academy graduates to go win a key match in the title race is ****ing massive? Not many clubs can do that.
Bedford Fox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 He gives us something different when he comes on. Impact player, his pace is terrifying. Wouldn't start him ahead of Albrighton but has his role to play.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Remember when we were all happy for him as he'd been allowed to train with Man Utd? Hope that's never inflicted upon him again
Shinji-San Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 He gives us something different when he comes on. Impact player, his pace is terrifying. Wouldn't start him ahead of Albrighton but has his role to play. Definitely, very excited when I see Jeff come on. A roll the dice type player, al ways entertaining though and a right handful for defenders with tired legs
Len Finsbury Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 It's wonderful having about 15 favourite players in the squad I remember a time, not so long ago, where naming a favourite player was almost impossible. In fact, naming a player you actually liked was hard enough.
Clever Fox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Jeff has the potential to go on a be a top player. Being out injured may have been a blessing for both him and the team. Sometimes young players can learn more from watching from the stand than playing non stop. Drinkwater is another example used his time out of the side to study and learn what he needed to do differently. Now look at him play with his head up and awareness of what's happening around him. They both deserve a lot of credit.

Chester Dontlie Posted 24 March 2016 Posted 24 March 2016 https://twitter.com/ghanafaofficial/status/712603352929067008 Schlupp, Leicester Leicester! They call him Mr Leicester
Sionnach gorm Posted 6 April 2016 Posted 6 April 2016 Interesting comments by Schlupp about his improvement as a player. http://m.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-NEWS-knew-Claudio-Ranieri-special/story-29034216-detail/story.html
Soar Fox Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 So Schlupp tried a shoe on in a shop and he ripped it. He probably tried to put the left shoe on his right foot.
Wymsey Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 Really frustrating player. Reads the game very well, both forward and back, but set pieces and shots you'd see as acceptable in the lower leagues.
foxes21 Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 As it looks likely we'll be playing 4-3-3 a bit next season, could Schlupp be the answer on the left of the front 3? He'd get a bit of freedom in a 4-3-3 to focus mainly on attacking & wouldn't have to over think everything he does which is usually his downfall. He's all about instinct so we might see the best of him in this formation. Drinkwater, Mendy & Kante doing the dirty work then feeding balls into Schluppy on the counter. Who needs Musa?!!

Schlupp is a good option because of his pace and directness going forward. I do think he is an asset to us. Because he's had experience of playing LB, he gets back well to defend when he's playing on the wing, helps out Fuchs. Albrighton defends well too. Schlupp is ideal when we want to counter attack like you said, in games where we need to be on the front foot Jeff is good for this. It was highlighted on MOTD on how well he played v Swansea (H), and he's still developing and improving each season. He mentioned himself how Ranieri has helped his game and will continue to I imagine.
TrentFox Posted 1 July 2016 Posted 1 July 2016 Generally, a massively underrated player by many. Hugely important to our style. We get linked with Bolassie (sp?) for stupid money, but I'd select Schlupp ahead of him every time. As with so many of our players. it's about effectiveness. And he is!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 July 2016 Posted 1 July 2016 The challenge for Schlupp is to become a 90-minute player at left wing rather than just seen as an impact option to tire defences for an hour or run them ragged off the bench. It's good that we've got two completely different types of player competing for the left wing position though. Three if you include Gray. Amazing to think we're not really desperate for new wingers even though we've got CL football to contend with. Schlupp is in an interesting position where he's proven he can be effective in short bursts in the Premier League but his scope for improvement is still massive. His assist for Ulloa's second against Swansea sums him up. Explosive, unorthodox, hard to defend against, hard to play alongside sometimes, yet strangely effective.

He seems to glide to me when he's going forward. Useful for us.
