Surely there is no way we can pull off getting that sort of money for him?

If we do then it softens the blow of our profligacy during the summer.

The funniest thing is that Big Sam has come out and said he is looking for a left back.

If he goes there and plays left back regularly it's going to make the end of their season "interesting" to say the least.

Yeah again with the West Brom example, Pulis was saying in the local press he was going to play him left back......

I dunno what everyone else is seeing personally.

Well to be fair Jeff won the players player of the year award during the great escape playing as attacking left wingback / left back.

I would take the money and run but Jeff has potential. In terms of athletiscm he's top notch, fast, tall and powerful. But as we all know he lacks a football brain and his decision making is poor.

Both his performance and attitude during the Porto defeat were shocking but the coaching team must see something in him.

He's going cos Chilwell and Fuchs covering left back position comfortably and we got more wingers than you can shake a stick at.

On top of that the money will come in handy for the much needed CB cover

Whatever happens I wish him nothing but good whatever he decides.

Best of luck to the guy, he's been with us 11 years.

I think some of the comments are a bit harsh on Schlupp. He may be 3rd choice left back and even further down the pecking order as a LM. But one thing you can't fault him for is he's always given his best for us and been a good servant to the club. Good Left backs are hard to come by luckily for us we have 2 that are top draw and Schlupp who is limited but would be a decent signing for them. Jeff will do well at Palace or West Brom. The football Pulis plays would probably suit him well. With all that said, I'm not sure he's a 9m pound player and amazed we didn't snap their hands off. But it is Jan, we are run by very good businessmen and they will probably get 12m ish for him.  Crazy sums but that's the way football is right now.

Makes Fuchs on a free look like signing of the century.

He ain't even worth last seasons £9m. Will never be a consistent starter in any of the top 2 leagues

Do you mean he wouldn't even be a consistent starter in the Championship? Give him some credit :) There's probably half a dozen prem sides that he could start for.

I have a feeling Jeff will do well in the future. For whatever reason he has lost motivation here and his recent performances have been poor, but I'd bet that he'll get his head together in the future and end up doing ok.

Anyway, I wish him all the best.

Worth more in the current market you don't get many under 10m these days. If he nails a left back spot down somewhere he'll be decent in a couple of seasons. He's probably the fastest at the club and he's strong as hell hes not any end product but it's not really a problem if he's playing that position.

He hasn't ever done it consistently though hence his desire to leave... and I don't see that changing. Will remain a squad player for life

Can't see it he'll be a decent left back in the future if that's what they use him for.

Schlupp will for ever be defined here at this club for looking clueless when his team mates were celebrating winning the league. it took him that long to process the information coming through, so imagine how long it takes him to process team tactics from Claudio and what he should be doing for the team

By whom exactly?

Schlupp isn't even Premier League quality and we got Premier League clubs offering us £9-12m for this useless speed merchant.

If he's a t premier league club and premier league clubs want to buy him it kinda suggests that he is premier league quality.

So you're saying he couldn't be a regular starter at any championship team? Newcastle aside I bet he'd start at any championship club. When used effectively he is a half decent player
