Babylon Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 more like bye simpson. Why are we going to play someone at right back who was a CB, then got converted to a CDM?
surrifox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Him and Gray looks like v good business for us in this window
MC Prussian Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Adios Inler. Adios James and Inler (on loan)? Still curious where Ranieri will place Amartey - in midfield or at centre-back?
Gerard Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Him and Gray looks like v good business for us in this window Yes, signing very young and quality players that go straight into the first team squad and all for relatively low prices. We'll never sign world class players but it would be nice to develop one or two of our own.
dbtcity Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 It seems no matter how many people say he's a CB or cm/CDM people keep pulling right back out the bag , rdl can play right wing but would I play him there.... No
Grey Fox Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Just read this report from a few pages back: https://mallamgoal.wordpress.com/2016/01/15/scout-report-%C2%B7-daniel-amartey-a-versatile-technical-machine/ This was the part that I liked most: "Another strength of the Ghanaian international is his tenacity on & off the ball. Blessed with surreal stamina, Amartey is able to hammer around the pitch at very high work-rate levels for 90 minutes game-after-game with an aggressive & powerful mindset, closing down & dispossessing players."
Babylon Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Him and Gray looks like v good business for us in this window Another tick in the owners box for the direction of the club at the moment, nothing guaranteed of course with any signing... but it's nice to see us look to the future and not just rush out buying lots of expensive ready made players. Especially considering the position we and they find themselves in, it just shows a real long term strategy that they don't want to move from.
Gerard Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Adios James and Inler (on loan)? Still curious where Ranieri will place Amartey - in midfield or at centre-back? He'll sit in front of the back four I think when we play 4-5-1. Adds aerial strength to the team as well which is needed IMO.
ramboacdc Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Why are we going to play someone at right back who was a CB, then got converted to a CDM? ...because i may have read on the bbc "right sided centre-back" and not have digested the "centre-back" part.....and now feel a bit silly? TO THE SAFEHOUSE!

LCCFox96 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Be very happy with this if there are no hiccups and we do land him. This guy looks like he could be the real deal and we continuously hear all the right noises from those who watch him regularly. If Copenhagen have announced it, then it should be confirmed our end within the next 24-48hrs latest. They'll want it done now it's 'officially' in the public domain.
artursteppe Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 $5million equals about £3.5million. ($5million equivalent quoted on Danish stock market, as selling price).
ramboacdc Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 well the bid was accepted friday so at least they got a good euro/dollar rate before they both plummeted.
Blue Ed Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 liked this comment from Copenhagen. looks like he's got good attitude. "Daniel has been a role model and a key player for us, and he has improved dramatically and faster than anyone could have expected," FC Copenhagen manager Stale Solbakken said.
yllekalle Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 I'm a fan of F.C. Copenhagen. I created a user on FoxesTalk this morning, because I'm a big fan of Amartey, and I want to follow his career - I think, that he can become a world class player. I watched one of the first training sessions at F.C. Copenhagen, after Amartey joined us. Ten minutes into the session, I called my brother (also a F.C. Copenhagen fan), telling him about Amartey. I recall, that I told my brother after those 10 minutes, that we wouldn't be able to hold on to him for more than one season. You could tell instantly, that he has that something extra. In Danish football, we often talk about good players, and those who has that "international standard" - and Amartey is above and beyond the latter. In 5 years, Amartey could very well play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. The John Obi Mikel comparison is not far off - though Amartey has lots more potential. If we were a bigger club, in a better league, he would cost £10-15 million. He's that good. And he is ready to play in the Premier League right away. Also Remember that FCK bought Amartey from Djurgårdens IF.
MC Prussian Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 This is done, right? Inofficially, yes. Officially, not yet. I suppose we're awaiting international clearance still.
ChrisFilter Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Inofficially, yes. Officially, not yet. I suppose we're awaiting international clearance still. Gotya. Ta. I just saw a headline on the Beeb with no actual story.
weller54 Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 Amartey and Kante.... Duracell Bunny meets Red Bull...
talking_goldfish Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 The actual fee is £3.47m as reported to the Danish Stock Exchange, but is expected to rise to £5m with add ons - an absolute steal at that price!
MC Prussian Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 What's his true position? CM/CDM, but also able to play CB and (to a lesser extent) RB.
Adster Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 CM/CDM, but also able to play CB and (to a lesser extent) RB. GET HIM IN.
