happy85 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Leicester have raised to 13m€ their bid for Sampdoria's Eder, according to Sky Italy
chapero82 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 http://gianlucadimarzio.com/news-cat/eder-il-leicester-rilancia-giocatore-verso-il-si-e-linter/ Twist in house Samp? Eder involved, Leicester lurking and at the door. First contacts already had, then the offer. Now, however, a new revival by the British. Offer that goes up to 13 million more bonuses, Sampdoria likely to accept leaving from the player. The boy is assessing the situation but seems inclined to transfer. However, he would like to understand if Inter would seriously but now the former Brescia seems directed towards the Premier League. Ranieri ahead of Leicester, less than sensational bid by the Nerazzurri between the days of today and tomorrow.
weller54 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Looks like this is happening!.. Bit out of left field though?
inckley fox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 This scepticism over players from Serie A seems a bit odd to me. Yes Inler hasnt worked out but Cambiasso did, Benalouane has done fine when he's played its just that Huth and Morgan have been broadly excellent. Coutinho and Arnautovic a couple of big successes from Italy to England in recent seasons. There's no real rule to whether someone will succeed or fail. Eder has the attributes to potentially both fit in to our style and give us something a bit different. I agree totally, but I think the concern is more that Ranieri specifically has, in the past, overestimated the adaptability of players from that league, rather than that everyone in that league is crap! It's not a big, big concern because we've not seen a great deal of Inler (he could yet adapt) and the same goes for Benalouane, so it's hard to say with any certainty that Ranieri really does think players in the Italian league are better than they really are.

You don't think that we've scouted and analysed Eder plenty of times though? It's not Claudio saying 'yeah I fancy this lad go and sign him'.
CharlieCharles Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Looks like a better version of Okazaki. When we signed them: Okazaki - 14 goals in 35 apps Eder - 13 goals in 21 apps You would fancy him to hit 6-8 from now till the end of the season.
weller54 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Wonder how long shinji will be out for too? ...this guy seems his ideal replacement.
happy85 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 You don't think that we've scouted and analysed Eder plenty of times though? It's not Claudio saying 'yeah I fancy this lad go and sign him'. Leices scouted several Samp matches this season but were reported to be after Pedro Pereira
inckley fox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 You don't think that we've scouted and analysed Eder plenty of times though? It's not Claudio saying 'yeah I fancy this lad go and sign him'. Of course I'm sure we've scouted him, but there will still be cases when the origin of a target is the manager rather than his scouting team. And how that affects the process from there on in, I don't know. For instance, if Ranieri says 'look at this guy, he's good' (and let's face it, with guys like Inler and Eder, you'd expect Ranieri to be as aware of the players as, or more so than, our scouting team), does that mean that the scouting is more a matter of assessment than of identifying the perfect candidate for the role? If we signed Balotelli, as was rumoured a while back, then even if he was watched by our scouts, you would have to imagine that it was the result of a very different process to Walsh and his men going out with an open mind and looking for the best man for the job. I have no doubt that the manager, like his predecessor, has the opportunity to give that kind of input - ie to identify a target himself - if he considers it necessary.

STUHILL Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I agree with one poster who says we have been watching Sampdoria for a while now, and people have probably mistakenly thought that was for Pedro Pereira when he wasn't even playing many games, and so we were probably scouting Eder all this time. The age doesn't worry me and if anything, I think we need a player for now, and not a long-term prospect. At 29, and just broken into the Italian team, he is obviously at his peak and not on the way down. I see him as someone who can probably pick the ball up in the number 10 type role and rather than just lay it off, as Ulloa and Okazaki do, probably beat a player or two or look for shots outside the box. At around 10million pounds for an Italian International striker on average wages, at his peak, who has a decent scoring record.. Happy with this. Would still like to see Carrillo or even a Sandro type striker (future in mind) but that's just me being greedy and worrying whether Vardy can stay fully fit and Ulloa/Okazaki can contribute more goals.
Ric Flair Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 We need a support striker. Vardy is going to play the remaining 15 games if he's fit so what we need alongside him is someone who is a natural at number 10. Long term we need to replace Ulloa and provide Vardy with competition for the number 9 role. However, short term to give us the best possible chance of top 4 we need someone to play behind him and take the onus off him and Mahrez scoring and providing our goals. Shinji is starting to look decent for us and there's no reason he can't play at number 9 where he's played for Japan and Mainz for several years to good effect. Remember we are unlikely to play Vardy and another number 9 together as we close out this season so don't get caught up on it. In an ideal world we'd bring in 2 players but the one we need is a number 10.
americanfox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 If this goes through, you have three players for two roles: Vards, Shinji, and Eder. Cool with that.
Stevosevic Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Some very tidy finishes here and he looks quick. 2014/15 goals.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Looks like a better version of Okazaki. I think you'd need to do more homework before making that comment!
CharlieCharles Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I think you'd need to do more homework before making that comment! ive just doubled checked it..... its correct.
LCFCABC Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 he looks a bit weighty! Low centre of gravity; reminds me of Tevez a little
weller54 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 he looks a bit weighty! Low centre of gravity; reminds me of Tevez a little A GTF replacement?
chapero82 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 he looks a bit weighty! Low centre of gravity; reminds me of Tevez a little who?
Richard Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Vardy - 29 Ulloa - 29 Okazaki - 29 Eder - 29 4 strikers reaching their peak... We're likely gonna need 4 replacements in 2 years though so I'd like to see another younger forward (a la Aboubakar, Babacar, Milik, Sandro etc...) in the summer if he does join
