Nick Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Reminds me of Maradonna, oddly - the way he runs and his physique and playing style.
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Didn't he used to play up front for Brazil? And was bloody good too.
Ric Flair Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 He does look like he has what we need behind Vardy. I'm intrigued by this.

Beliall Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Like a virgin? No, not that one, the fallen Madonna, with the big boobies
Bluetintedspecs Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I don't know why but a voice inside is screaming no and another is saying this isn't our actual target. Is hearing voices a problem?
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Messi is 29, Ronaldo is 31? Yes, however they are the two best players alive (and arguably ever). This chap is not.
KFS Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Our fourth option striker needs to be able to keep up the energy of Shinji and Vards, but needs to have technical ability. Looks like he's got both of those, albeit in a YouTube video of Serie A. Leo- "aerial threat" (Target man) Vardy- pace and finishing (Finisher) Shinji- pressing/ front line of defence (Defensive forward) ??- pressing and technical ability (Defence unlocker)
les-tah Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 underwhelming... mostly the Italians fall short in the premier league.. ('mostly' so dont bring a list of players who have succeedded )!!
thybluefox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Have to admit looking at his record I'm not blown away. If Walsh & co think he can do a job then he's got my support, but it doesn't excite me. The article posted above in this thread suggests £2.2million a year, thats about £42k a week so it isn't actually massive money really. I'm not confident he's going to have what it takes to move us forwards though?
MC Prussian Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 underwhelming... mostly the Italians fall short in the premier league.. ('mostly' so dont bring a list of players who have succeedded )!! He's a native Brazilian, just received the Italian passport a while ago (in 2010) due to his grandparents' heritage.
Max Power Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Good player but I figured we'd be going for a bigger more physical player as this centre forward option
les-tah Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 He's a native Brazilian, just received the Italian passport a while ago (in 2010) due to his grandparents' heritage. fair enough! then brings the old fashioned argument or nature or nurture
Max Power Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 We've been watching Sampdoria games for ages and everyone assumed it was that young full back who doesn't play but I guess it was Eder
Stevosevic Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 We've been watching Sampdoria games for ages and everyone assumed it was that young full back who doesn't play but I guess it was Eder Good point
thybluefox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 We've been watching Sampdoria games for ages and everyone assumed it was that young full back who doesn't play but I guess it was Eder If true, that's pretty telling tbh.
Finnaldo Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 The best footage I could find from his first goal for Italy vs Bulgaria. Seems to showcase his defense unlocking capabilities, good on the turn, draws defenders in and a decent finisher, I reckon he could work well with Vardy upfront to carve out chances. On his goalscoring record, he seems to score a goal per three games over the last three season, and baring in mind he's kept that up despite Sampdoria's poor season so far, I reckon with the space we manage to work he could improve on that. Saying that, I would like to see a younger striker some in at some point in the summer, a strikeforce that are all 30 aren't going to have too many seasons left in the tank, but if leaving it a season to find a younger Vardy-like gem I'm willing to wait!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I don't know why but a voice inside is screaming no and another is saying this isn't our actual target. Is hearing voices a problem? I'm hearing you buddy . . . . . . Oh no your voice is in my head . . . . . . . Arrrrrrrgggghgghhhhhhhhhh
weller54 Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Scored yesterday! A header from a corner A Eder from a corner?
TOMBlcfc Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 I'm really confused by some people. Is an Italian national team striker not exciting?!?!? This is exactly the sort of player I wanted us to get. Technically good, in his prime, can play off Vards or as the main man, good at set pieces (right footed as alternative to our lefties) and pretty high profile. Shows our intent and should add a lot to the team in theory. Not sure whether he can speak much english but will know Italian and portuguese/spanish

Ric Flair Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 Yeah I thought a support striker is what we're crying out for? This lad ticks all the boxes. He also looks very very good at free kicks which we are abysmal at. Long term we will need another number 9 as well but considering Vardy is likely to play every game he's available then it's the number 10 role this season we need to improve upon.

Not sure whether he can speak much english but will know Italian and portuguese/spanish He's a tidy player and a good signing, I'd have been happy if we'd signed him in the summer even before he went on his latest goal spree. He's just not quite what people are/were expecting. He's not an out and out striker to lead the line which is arguably what we need. Put another way, I see Eder more as an alternative to Mahrez than to Vardy.
