A three-year contract worth around £29,000-per-week is understood to be on the table.[/size]

The weekly wage is meaningless without knowing the signing on fee.

Claudio looks like he is buying shoes rather than players. he must be loving it back home with his team top of the PL!

I wish people would stop banging on about how "Ranieris" signings have been flops it's just crazy, he brought in players to strengthen areas that needed strengthened and by the sounds of things that was also to fit in with a 3 CB and 3cm formation..... Things have changed since then CR has found a formation that suits us and knows what type of players will suit said formation and style of play, Inler and benalouane aren't bad players Inler just dose t fit into our fast counter attacking football that we play, I personally won't be judging him on signings he made when he'd been here for two mins and will be looking at the calibure he player he signs from now on in

I think people usually class players, regardless of how good they were / could have been / are later, as 'flops' if they fail to add to the quality of a side - and especially if they fail to make the first team. I suspect that, in a large number of cases, this happens because of either a failure to adapt to a new style, or a player simply not suiting that style. There's a huge list of players out there who did brilliantly for one side and, without age being the defining factor, didn't do it for Leicester.

However I don't think we can say 'Ranieri' signings, specifically, have been flops. He gave that final green light for Kante, who has been a revelation, irrespective of the input Walsh and even Pearson had had previously. Of his - what? - five permanent signings, one has been brilliant, two have barely featured (but have only been at the club a short time, and have missed out on a place principally because we've been the best team in the country for the duration of their stay) and two have only just signed. That said, if they left at the end of the season, yes, they'd have to go down as flops.

But - and it's not a criticism of Ranieri at all, at least not yet, and doesn't deflect from the astounding job he's done so far - it makes sense for people to put down the increased emphasis on Italian league players to him and to wonder whether a pattern could be start to emerge of these players not always being well-suited to us. Only wonder, mind. Eder could just as easily turn out to be a master-stroke.

At least we won't have to **** around with work permits. Hope he settles in quickly, if we do get him, especially if Shinji's injury was more than it looked.

Can't say I watch much serie a and I know YouTube isn't the most foolproof way of judging a player but he looks like he'd fit right in here. Still think we need a better alternative to Leo if we want a physical presence up top but I'm not gonna turn my nose up at this

This does smack of the Aranguiz deal. We'll have several back up options, if this was even our main target anyway. All the stories are coming from Italy whose press coverage is erratic and I can see why we're being used here.
