Eder

He's a tidy player and a good signing, I'd have been happy if we'd signed him in the summer even before he went on his latest goal spree.

He's just not quite what people are/were expecting. He's not an out and out striker to lead the line which is arguably what we need.

Put another way, I see Eder more as an alternative to Mahrez than to Vardy.

I thought the general thought on here was that we needed someone to play behind the striker... the majority have seemingly moaned all season about not having a 10.

Leo, Vardy and Shinji are all meant to be a "lead the line" type striker, with different attributes obviously.

Exactly! It seems now that Okazaki has scored a few scuffers and Ranieri has got all the fans excited by the words " striker " fans want some goal scoring machine to lead the line. What's Vardy going to do then? Long term we need to replace Ulloa but right now we need someone who excels in the 10 role.

Then the general consensus on here is retarded.

Shinji has been a brilliant foil for Vardy, he's helped Vardy to his best ever season in football. There's been further creativity from Mahrez, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Kante and co and we're outscoring pretty much the entire league.

For me the biggest concern by far is the lack of alternative at 9. We've pretty much forced Vardy to play through injury for the last two months because we've zero other options.

As much as I'm a fan of Leo's, what we need most in attacking terms is a direct upgrade on him. A modern, hybrid forward with a bit of size and a bit of pace who can play as a lone striker. Especially if we want to keep switching to 451.

I think the hesitation is because many were expecting a goal scorer, but Babs and Ric are right, we're crying out for someone creative more than we are someone to knock the goals in.

I'm not saying Eder is that player, but getting hung up on (and I include myself in doing this) goals per game stats isn't the best idea.

Contracted until 2020. lol Only at Sampdoria.?

Twelve goals in 19 league games so far. Can operate as a striker or on either wing.

Oh, and born in Lauro Müller. Those Germans...

His goals ratio isn't impressive but he is a good player. Technically gifted and could play that number 10 role with ease.

Define impressive.  He's got 12 goals and 3 assists in 19 league games this season.  That's being directly involved in a goal in 8 out of 10 games (79%).  Not that bad is it?

I should imagine one option of many we are considering this week. This cup break has worked out well hasn't it? Fresh players and a lot of the back room staff can concentrate on this signing

I don't really know too much about him but his goal record is decent. I almost find it hard not to trust what our scouting system believe is the right player for us, if that makes sense? When they've bought in the likes of Mahrez, Kante, and Vardy I honestly have total faith whoever they bring will only benefit the squad.

does the company cheque book only go to 10 million then?

well considering they don't want to spend too much given the rumours who knows.

We need to spend a good amount to get anybody decent and I'm not sure we want to do that.

People moaning that we are, maybe, signing an International striker wtf.

What do some on here seriously want!

He has a low centre of gravity I think he would suit our style of play I hope we bring him in.

Sounds like the ideal signing. He can slot in to any of the front 5 positions, can score goals and create goals. Whereas Armartey and Gray were bought with the future in mind, this link shows real intention to push on for the rest of this season.

People who say this isn't an exciting signing need to roll back about 6 months and remember the names mentioned then.
