Who'd ever believe a club at the top of the Premiership could fail to sign a suitable striker in a month - and given all the time they knew they needed one.

Yes, I know there's still time but the days are running out and we seem to have been running in all sorts of directions at once.

i wonder if we really knew who we wanted and if we did know why didn't we focus on that and get the job done. Pissing about with "opening offers" is not always a clever idea.

Gonna be so mad when we try to push to win the title and we end up with £10m Dwight Gale

I'd take gayle if he came a long with another striker the lad is rapid just our type of player

We're going to sign someone completely off the radar i can see it, this is all a distraction.

You might hope so but we seem to have made at least two serious offers so if there's other people in the wings I can't imagine the'd be over-happy to be looked on as after-thoughts.

More complicated than that. Could have been Charlie Austin who was our No.1 and we missed out on and then Eder seemed likely until Inter came in late, now Musa but they are asking more than we valued him at etc... There is a reason deals are done so close to the deadline each year. it's because the clubs selling hold all the cards and know they can get more money, the longer they leave it or more complicated they make the process, forcing the buyers to spend more to get it done. It's frustrating but the same happens each year, to all the clubs. It's business,

We needed to get rid of Kramaric first.

Looks like his agent believes he will "most likely" remain at CSKA because of the time left to complete the deal.

Sounds like someone thinking there'll be a really good market to develop in their player come the summer - with all the boxes, such as European football, ticked or otherwise rather than simply hoped for. More money for the agent as well as the player.

Austin was always my preferred signing (if available) and I'm not at all sure we ever tried hard enough to get him. As for Musa the required price was on the table and we should have bid it straight away if we wanted him so badly. That would have bought stacks of time to sort the details or exposed CSKA's determination not to sell, in which case we could have moved on overnight.

I really hope they didn't go with that approach. It's so much harder to bring players in than to ship them out, surely we should have gotten the hard part done first.  If worst came to worst we'd be paying his wages for an extra 6 months, a small price to pay to ensure we had adequate cover for that position. I can't believe our wage budget is that tight.

It's not like heading to Sainsbury's for six cans of beer. Leicester are required to deal with other teams who overrate their product & take interest in the player as an opportunity to jack up the price. Then we have players who never intended to move here but say they will to pressure the club that they actually want to go to.

We should have got rid of him months ago. I've still no idea why we signed him, and I don't suppose he has either.

How do figure that one out? Have you not heard of transfer\loan windows?

I think Austin was our preferred target in this window, as soon as he turned us down for Southampton the rumours started fluctuating.

Hopefully he's the one we have been after all along

I think so.  I'm amazed there haven't been any rumours of him leaving this Window - going to us, or anywhere.  We know we were in for him in the summer and it's even more likely he'll leave now.  I'm still waiting for confirmation of a link.
