We're all taking the word of Twitter "journos" as gospel and getting worked up. I think by now our recruiting team have done enough to earn our trust. We don't get held to ransom and we rarely sign a flop. a) You're ignoring my use of the word "seem". b) A week ago, the "scattergood" theory seemed plausible. Now, while hoping you're right, it's looking mighty risky where foreign-based players are concerned. c) As for "trust" it's not a word that really enters my head. We've had our bad signings and doubtless missed a few too.

I love Ighalo but a couple of points: 1) He would be half the player he is now without Deeney or a similar target man as in tune with him as Deeney is.... and in our system he'd be playing with Vardy, which would essentially turn him into what Deeney is for him at Watford 2) No chance of him moving in January.

Well said Fez, your glass is obviously always half full; but lets not kid ourselves that we really do need another striker if we want to make the most of this season ... Leo and Shinji are a bit of a double act so we really only have 2 strikers. Not enough.

I also believe CSKA want to sell and Leicester want to buy. It's a blinking contest at the moment and the game ends on Monday so if both parties want the deal there will be a compromise.

On the assumption that the recent transfer rumours are broadly accurate, I agree with this. Musa seems the only striker candidate who looks likely to want to join us, it looks like he'll fit our style, and of an age to be a big part of the next stage of our development. And his owning club have set their price, so looks like they are willing to sell. Admittedly it's a steep price, and I understand it's a bad policy to overpay, but I think it would be justified as a one-off, given the urgency. Italian clubs seem to have messed us about right and proper. A quick upping by a few mill might see off man u and conclude the deal for us. Then we can all relax!
