Ahmed Musa

A Nigerian in those Russian winters probably can't wait to get to the comparatively tropical conditions of England.

We want him

He said he wants to come

The Russians have given us a price

It will happen IMO

I agree. We weren't particularly far off their asking price either.

Today has been a quiet day - no new rumours or tenuous links. Close Transfer Forum and move on.

Think how much time would be saved if we avoided the internet until Monday PM !!!

Musa "can" play as a center forward but his best position is out wide. In my opinion he lacks the physical presence to be an effective center forward in the EPL. However if he is played out wide he will tear slow full backs a new one. He is very dangerous when he cuts in from the left wing...as Argentina found to their cost in the World Cup:

What would you say is his best position?  Up front or on the left wing where he seems to play a lot?

Looks faster tbh. Not as beefy though, looks kinda lightweight.

Which is why I'm a bit worried about how will cope as a striker here. Mane does well cos he can look after himself but Musa does look lightweight.

Then again if I judged Kante by his physical appearance I'd guess he was my local paper boy, and not a guy who dominates midfielders in the Premier League.

I think being "lightweight" is a bit of a myth in Football, especially as a striker. I think it suggests being pushed off the ball too easily, but if you think of players such as Silva, Hazard, Defoe etc, all small and skinny but all have been brilliant in the Premiership. Musa has a similar stature but even more pace and it's not like we would be hoofing balls up for him to win in the air over towering CB's, he would be feeding off through balls and balls over the top to chase on to. Okazaki similar again but seems to be able to hold the ball up against CB's better than a bigger, stronger Ulloa.

Agreed on Kante too

Slightly off topic, funniest thing I've read today:

"Dwight Gayle for £7.5 Million is like spending 15 quid on a fun sized snickers" :claudio:

You're right about that. Silva is 5'7 and he's a top player in this league. Kante is 5'6 and settled in immediately and won midfield battles after midfield battles, despite looking like a schoolboy.

If this is the case would give us a good option in going 4-3-3. Musa and Mahrez flanking Vardy.

Not sure where he fits in to our standard 4-4-2/4-2-3-1 though, unless he'll go straight to the top of the pecking order and take Okazaki's place. Which would be disappointing as Oka is doing well at the moment. However we shouldn't splurge 19 million on someone who won't immediately improve the first team.

Looks like his agent believes he will "most likely" remain at CSKA because of the time left to complete the deal.

Agent Musa:

"Ahmed, probably will remain at CSKA"

According to British media, "Lester" million dollars for the striker Ahmed Musa offered 21.5 CSKA. However, the Russian club refused. According to the agent of the Nigerian football player Tony Harris, his client is likely to continue to advocate for the army.

- By the end of the transfer campaign left little time - said Harris, which is associated with the correspondent "SE". - We are waiting for developments. Sometimes the situation is changing in the last few hours. But most likely Ahmed remain in Moscow.

- Sam Ahmed would prefer to move to the English Premier League?

- Play in England tempting for each player, and Musa is no exception. He would willingly go there. But it is necessary to his club agreed to the proposed terms. However, there is no urgency and no one on whom the pressure has not. Ahmed happy in Moscow. But if there is a suitable offer, he did certainly consider.

- Some experts believe that he went over to the Spanish championship, because Musa fast, but athlete. What do you think of it?

- I think that he is physically strong. Musa began his career in the Nigerian league, played at the African Cup. At the same time he resisted well developed physically rivals. Ahmed is able to express themselves in Spanish, but I believe that the British style suits him completely. Moreover, it can produce a sensation in England. But it is necessary to fit the player and the club.

Scout "Everton" followed Musa?

- In England, it is only interested in "Leicester"? Or are there other contenders? For example, "Everton."

- On this subject I will not be distributed. I can only say that the interest of showing a number of clubs, not just "Lester." Once a proposal acceptable to all parties, we will consider it.

- It is true that among the interested present Dortmund, "Dortmund"?

- On its side interest has been in the past. Not now.
