bobtickle Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 After spending a quarter of a billion quid making themselves unwatchable dog crap who could blame them ? Not blaming them, more frustrated because this could happen more in the future with bigger clubs hijacking our deals

SecretPro Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 There better be some shit happening today because yesterday was depressing.

Gerard Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 You have to wonder if Man Utd would have shown an interest in him if we didn't? The cynic in me thinks this could me a ploy to derail our top four ambitions so they can pick up the pieces. Maybe Man Utd thought he was a good player but coupled with our reputation of buying really well and the fact that we were going to make this guy our record transfer fee was enough for them to move in. I imagine their scouting network is inferior to ours as they only really shop at Harrods. The positive side is that we are now targeting players that interest the top clubs but we have no chance of rivalling the likes of Man Utd so we may as well step aside and let them get on with it. It emphasises we need a smoke and mirrors policy when we attempt to buy players in the summer.

He's an international striker who has played in the Champions League.
Gerard Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 A Nigerian on the Man Utd forum guarantees he's lying about his age. There's also a lot more posts about Musa. http://www.redcafe.net/threads/transfer-tweets-january-2015-16.412046/page-51

I remember him and QPR trying to go in for a lot our targets
LCCFox96 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Feel like there could be some logic behind some of those United fans' opinions that the name 'Manchester United' is being added to drive the price on CSKA's behalf or force through a move on Musa's part. All part of the hunt. Alternatively, United could be in for him, as he is of the calibre and profile. Interested to see how this one plays out, I hope we land him.
Tuna Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Rob Tanner @RobTannerMerc I think #lcfc still trying for Musa. Eder looks over. Not convinced about Niang, but could be wrong.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Liverpool sniffing around too, Marvellous.

Interestingly enough there is no thread about him on the Man Utd transfer forum. You have to wonder if CSKA have banded Man Utd's name about to force the price up. I suppose one good thing if that is true is that means CSKA want to do business so a price will probably be agreed at some point.
ARM1968 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 Just pay the bill. Collect and move on. That £3 million might look like peanuts if we don't fullfil the promise of this season.

I concur, I trust David Amoyal on Twitter - Milan have frozen the sale of Niang, let's get this done before another club bids.

Thracian Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 It's starting to bother me how many targets we seem to be missing. I'm wondering if we're acting like bottom trawlers and bidding something that insults the ticket price as an opening gambit. It can put people's backs up for all that it seems the norm in some societies, or on contrived programmes like Bargain Hunt!
Grey Fox Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 You can only really judge how successful a window has been once it's closed.

For all we know this scattergun approach could be all a ploy, we might end up swooping for someone entirely left field in the next day or so. We're all taking the word of Twitter "journos" as gospel and getting worked up. I think by now our recruiting team have done enough to earn our trust. We don't get held to ransom and we rarely sign a flop.
