Watched Vardy closely in the warm up especially the shooting drills and he was awesome

Looked back to full fitness and so it proved

His goal was something else but it was his overall sharpness that I was really pleased to see back

Nothing to fear at Man City for this man

Got back in time for MOTD and I have to say it looks better on TV. Beat Man City and Saturday and who knows what could happen. Biggest game in recent years for us IMO...

An amazing, wonderful performance that was. Was no way the easiest three points we got this season, first half was pretty tight with some key chances at either end. I felt we looked a little shaky at the back at times in the first period, maybe a little nervous here and there. Second half different story we came out lot more stronger and confident. That amazing goal from Vardy won it for us, even if we were only 1-0 up at that point Liverpool never looked like coming back.

So one down two to go!

Over here in the States on NBC they showed an interview with Klopp right after the game. The guy was so stunned and shocked by the result he was pretty much incoherent. Did not know what to say, thought he was going to burst into tears at one point

Priceless!!! His team got mugged and gegenpressed all in one!!!

Sometimes you wonder if its worth getting up at 3.45am for a football match..... then you watch Leicester City.

Excuse me for my drunken uncouthness.  I was watching this game tonight from Mumbai and....

****IN BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  In 25 years I couldn't have dreamt we could be in this position.  This could actually happen!!!!!

Avoid defeat in the next two games and IT IS ON!!!

I just hope the players keep believing as much as we are.  At times during the previous two games against Man City and Arsenal I've felt we've looked a touch in awe and been on the back foot.  I just hope they realise the time is now.  Stand up for another week or so and it can happen.  There's no one else to fear afterwards.

The belief seems to be there that no one else is better.  Let's prove them all wrong.

Wow.

Watching this team lately keeps drawing my mind to a quote from a famous poet, though speaking about a different sport, I find his words sum up things nicely..

'Our style is impetuous, our defence is impregnable, we are ferocious..'

After that what he says.. hmm doesn't really apply so much but whatever

AWESOME RESULT BOYS!!!  What a team spirit!

Jon Champion also noted early on that Liverpool's squad cost eight times Leicester City's squad.

Love this club!

And that Lovren alone cost more than our starting 11..

Kante has to be one of the club's best ever signings. He has made a MASSIVE difference to our midfield. I love watching him break up opposition attack after attack. He's absolutely pivotal to our success and the partnership he's made with Drinkwater who also has been sensational, is a joy to behold. Midfields are crucial to success. Ours, this season, is one of the best

Wow, so proud of that, the tempo and confidence outstanding. That spell of lightining fast short passes was like something from the Harlem Globetrotters. And they weren't exactly playing a bunch of mugs, International footballers. So Roy, Henderson or Dwinkwater?

Where on earth does it end?

Fully expected us to win tonight and we delivered in serious style. I genuinely don't know where to even start with this lot anymore. It's outrageous.

There's never a boring time being a Leicester City fan.  Maybe a few mediocre dark years in the lower echelons of the Championship 10 years ago but otherwise there's always something going down.

Our time is now!  (again!)

This........  A total revelation.  Wouldn't look out of place at Madrid or any other top European club.. Credit to Steve Walsh and his scouting team.

Wow - what a night. Can't think I've seen more than a handful of goals to compare with Vardy's opener not just for such a superlative first touch volley but Mahrez's visionary 65-yard pass that set it up.

Reflecting on such a comprehensive and thoroughly deserved win I tried to remember another occasion in60 years when our team had restricted Liverpool to so few chances - and couldn't. Not even close.

Many games I've watched between the sides involved MoM or near Mom displays by our goalkeeper. Tonight Kasper made two quality saves but otherwise had as quiet a night as he's ever likely to get.

There were things that bothered me. Like too much time and space down Liverpool's left and an inexplicable return to inept and thoughtless set-pieces.

But otherwise ours was approaching a masterclass in controlled football with Vardy both inspiring and virtually unplayable.

It wasn't just his brace of goals. He all but layed another on a plate for Shinji who somehow failed to nod the balll down into the vacant left-hand corner of the net and otherwise contributed a series of deft lay-offs which were testimony to the improvement in his close control.

Mahrez made more mistakes but still got his unforgetable assist and more minor involvement in the second goal in his holding off of a defender who just might have spoiled the move.

But these two weren't our only heroes. Our back five recorded another clean sheet with their general all-round assurance and central midfielders Kante and Drinkwater led an entire team that hunted so well in packs that, at times, Liverpool were made to look vulnerable as novices to any kind of counter attack.

There could have been a third goal of course because the taking down of Shinji in that Liverpool sandwich looked a clear enough penalty to me although I accept we've not got the best record for converting such opportunities so maybe we should thank the ref for sparing us any potential embarrassment.

But no, save for Huth once again threatening all our good work with another unnecessary "arm" that could have cost us dearly and Simpson leaving just a bit too much time and space for Liverpool to exploit down their left it really was a victory and performance to savour.

Arsenal's slipping another two points back off the pace added the perfect nightcap to a super evening which was summed up by my oldest son, a Liverpool fan, who took defeat with good grace, sang the praises of our fans and reckoned our team was two ratings points per man better than his own - and right through the line-ups.

But the lasting memories were Mahrez's pass and Vardy's volley. Absolute box office! Oh yes, and that passing movement....mesmerizing even in slow motion. Happy days!

I didn't the performance was that great. Some of our passing was poor, and with abit more care we could have created way more chances. Defensively we were really solid, I thought the midfield were energetic without the ball but the passing at times was wanting. Vardy was back to his best, Shinji worked really hard, at times fell down too easily. Mahrez is getting to his best, at times frustrating. The result hiwever was magical, well chuffed

But the team's passing ability is exactly one of the reasons Ranieri is playing this system. We just aren't great at keeping the ball or play at a slower pace. Our passing today was miles better than it was pre-Stoke. And we even worked up the best move of the season (imo) leading up to Okazaki's penalty claim.

They were praising Mahrez on Danish TV as well as on MotD, and I might be a bit weird here, but I remember finding him largely disappointing/frustrating during the game. I'm obviously used to the very high standard he has set this season and bar his cracking effort on goal during the first half, I thought he was being well snuffed out by Liverpool. He must have lost the ball eight or nine times when running with it, he was suspicious in defense (he was at fault for the biggest chance they had, where Kasper made a stunning save only for Can to be called offside) and was made to look pedestrian next to Vardy, Shinji, Kante, Albrighton and Drinkwater. I didn't realise he assisted the goal until they showed highlights after the game, nor did I truly appreciate his contribution for that super slick move mentioned earlier because they were reluctant to show a replay.

It's scary that I find myself thinking that Mahrez could and should do even better than he did today.

This season is unthinkable. The enjoyment is only amplified by our recent history of emotional rollercoasters culminating in that just as unthinkable escape last season. Could we really do it? We huffed and puffed to an extreme degree today and looked to get thwarted at every attempt only for Vardy to pull out a wonder goal. I think this is a sign that we will be in it right until the last game of the season.

By the way, had Vardy skied that shot I would have been shouting words at the screen with Shinji running into the area COMPLETELY unmarked...

Actually, with Vardy taking over penalty duty it could possibly have given him the opportunity to score his first Premier League hattrick, and boy did he deserve it today! I dare say this performance eclipsed his already legendary one in THAT 5-3 game...

You wouldn't think Liverpool had an attacking player, and brought on another one, who each cost more than the XI we started tonight would you? Absolutely woeful up top they were. I cannot work out what anyone sees in Firmino.
