Blackpool Fox 69 Posted 3 February 2016 Author Posted 3 February 2016 Got to aim for top 3 for me. 4th place means you have to go through the qualifying rounds which can be quite tough sometimes! I think it is just one tie, the 4th in Prem goes in last round before groups.
goose2010 Posted 3 February 2016 Posted 3 February 2016 I actually think we are getting better, the players don't look scared at all like people said they would the confidence in that squad is unbelievable probably going back to the invincible Arsenal team since it was last seen like this. We have conceded 6 goals in the last 12 league games, only one in the league this year! Ok we are not as good as that team but we are playing like we are. We can pretty much afford to lose 4 matches to not guarantee us top 4. I just cant see us losing that many and the others winning enough to catch us. Winning the league is still a massive ask but it is certainly possible after last nights game it was the first time that I thought we could actually do this.
purpleronnie Posted 3 February 2016 Posted 3 February 2016 I think it is just one tie, the 4th in Prem goes in last round before groups. But having such a great season and then not qualifying for the CL would be hugely dissapointing.
davieG Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Leicester to be placed in top Champions League pot if they win Premier League By Gerard BrandLast Updated: 22/03/16 1:05pm Leicester City will reserve a spot in Pot 1 of the Champions League group stage draw next season if they win the Premier League. The league leaders, who are five points clear of second-placed Tottenham with seven games remaining, look set to be venturing into Europe's premier club competition for the first time in their history, and after recent rule changes could avoid the continent's top sides. Prior to the 2015/16 season, the top eight seeds were ordered by the coefficients of the competing clubs, but as of the current campaign, league champions from Europe's top seven associations will be placed directly into Pot 1. Leicester are five points clear of second-placed Tottenham If Leicester win the Premier League, as it stands across Europe they would avoid being drawn against the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, who are all currently leading their domestic leagues. The top seven associations, according to UEFA's coefficients rankings, are Spain, Germany, England, Italy, Portugal, France and Russia. The remaining eighth place is given to the Champions League winners, though if that club has already won their domestic league, the slot goes to the winners of the association ranked eighth in the coefficient, currently Ukraine.
yorkie1999 Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Well, as a guess, i don't think we could win the European cup so I shouldn't mind being drawn against Barcelona Or Real Madrid. Imagine being in the same group as spurs. How shit would that be!

Imagine being in the same group as spurs. How shit would that be! We wouldn't get drawn in the same group as Spurs as clubs from the same country can't meet until the quarter finals I think.

We cant be put in the same group as another English team but once you reach quarter finals there are no restrictions

Imagine being in the same group as spurs. How shit would that be! Can't draw a team in the same league. Worst/best case scenario depending on your outlook to me would be: City Real Madrid Dortmund Someone like Zenit?

Worst/best case scenario depending on your outlook to me would be: City Real Madrid Dortmund Someone like Zenit? I don't think we would even draw Dortmund, because they aren't Pot 3? It'd probably be more along the lines of a Lyon, Roma?

Imagine being in the same group as spurs. How shit would that be! Teams can't get drawn against other teams from their home league in the group stage. We could only get Spurs in the knockout stage
mancunianfox Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Here is one pot one and two would look like if the season ended today: POT1 Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Leicester City, Juventus, Benfica, Paris St. Germain, CSKA Moscow, CL Winner (if Madrid or Man City) or Dynamo Kiev POT2 Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City, Borrusia Dortmund, FC Porto, Napoli, FC Basel Not 100% but I think the following teams would automatically qualify and would go in either pots 3 or 4 depending on rankings: Hertha Berlin, Monaco, Ajax, Roma, PSV Eindhoven, Dynamo Kiev, Fenerbahce, Olympiakos, Besiktas And the following teams would go into the qualification rounds: Tottenham Hotspur, Shakhtar Donetsk, Villareal, Schalke 04, Sporting CP, Nice, FC Rostrov, Young Boys, Red Bull Salzburg, Viktoria Plzen, Sparta Prague, Astra Gurgiu, Steau Bucharest, Apoel, FC Copenhagen, Dimamo Zagreb, BATE Borisov, BK Hacken, Ludogrets Razgrad

Would that not be Man City based on current standings?
potter3 Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 If Spurs came second they wouldn't be put into the qualifying round, they would enter the group stages.

Wymsey Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 How far the club has gone after the crap with Holloway, Levein, Sousa to this...
mancunianfox Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 That's not right, Tottenham would go in automatically, probably in Pot 4. Thanks for spotting that - Tottenham would be in pot 3, they are quite highly ranked by UEFA, Man City would be in the playoffs. Doh.
filbertway Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Doubt anyone will notice, but you've put Spurs in the qualifying rounds.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 The Champions League theme at the King Power will be so surreal.
Soar Fox Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Real Madrid PSV Eindhoven Apoel I'd be very happy with that.
EGBFitness Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Imagining Leicester be top of the league so far into the season is beyond wildest dreams. To be in the champions league was unimaginable. Seeing Leicester City in pot 1 with the likes of Barca, Juve, PSG and co feels like I'm trapped in football manager world and I'm about to wake up from some sick joke I can't stop smiling seeing us in pot 1 this needs to happen!!
Nalis Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 The Champions League theme at the King Power will be so surreal. I was just thinking about this other day, crazy.
FireFox Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 We are clearly going to go up against Athletico Madrid, not Real. I would love it If we do better than Spurs because we are 'lucky' to get into an easier group (because we win the league).
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Amazing to think that we are looking highly likely to be involved in this competition next season. Champions League nights at our ground will be superb, atmosphere, build up etc.
SystonFox Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 The Champions League theme at the King Power will be so surreal.i had it played at my wedding whilst guests were arriving and awaiting the arrival of the bride. Purely cos I liked the song. This was in Feb '14.I'm taking all credit for our current success
Corky Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 All those teams who've been in it and trying for years and we swan straight into the first pot What a world to live in.
